Can't remember where you live ChuckF, but if it's somewhere that is cold in the winter, I would recommend something fleece lined like this:
1569852434.533055-S2729847_C228_Alt1.jpg

Wearing mine right now and it's not only super comfy, but super warm. You may never get dressed again.

I saw a woman on the street in a bathrobe yesterday while I was walking back from the shops. With pyjamas (pyjama trousers at least) and flip-flops. She had a bulky envelope and she came out of one house and went up to the door of another, so I assume delivering a mis-delivered package and not necessarily purely a pandemic thing, but I reckon at least partially.

I have have had bathrobes all my life. Great for mornings when you just got out of bed and all day in the cooler months. I also wear pajama bottoms and a tshirt at home, which is all the time now.

I've worn one for many years, now. Mrs. S runs hotter than I do, and my wearing a bathroom lets us live together in mutual comfort. And it lets me pretend to be Arthur Dent. I'm all in favor of them becoming accepted outdoor wear.

I have two: a maroon one that I picked up at Target many years ago while on vacation (it got too chilly in the timeshare space), and a royal blue one I bought from Land's End 4 or 5 years ago. The Land's End robe is plusher, but also slightly heavier, so I end up wearing the one from Target much more often.

I used to have an imitation silk robe that I bought on clearance as kind of a joke, but it actually turned out to be great when I lived in some places without AC for the summer. Now I am looking at a fleece or terry cloth kind of thing along the lines slim suggested for cold weather days.

Mine is polar fleece, and it's almost perfect in cold weather. It would be better if it had a hood, though.

So you should get one with a hood.

A week from tomorrow I go for shot #2
I like the way they are doing it around here. They schedule the second one when you show up for the first.

We made of bi-monthly vittles run this weekend, to gather up staples, and fresh produce and meats.

We also began tilling space for a garden out by the old barn.
It's been a long time since I have worked a vegetable garden.

I called the number you're supposed to call. The nice woman at Sharp told me that they're actually sending out the links only five days in advance, then checked to see if she had the information to send me already. She did; she sent me the link, and I have scheduled my second injection for 10 AM this coming Sunday.

Practices here regarding second injections vary, depending on where you get your first. Mrs. S, who went to a high school down in Imperial Beach, got her second appointment when she went in for her first.

I, my son shadow, chunksmediocrites and my mom in assisted care, all have both shots as of the Sunday before last. My entire family is now vaccinated. In part because my son is eligible for disability and was getting in home care, which is now us.

My parents (80+) and I think also both step-parents have got their first shots, my mother just also got her second because her phone was accidentally off so they couldn't call her to cancel due to supply shortages.

The current schedule has an estimate of starting first shots for regular plebs like me in July or August. I don't know if occupational health (AKA private healthcare) might speed that up or not, possibly not as the problem is with supply, not jabbers.

HAHAHAHA! Today, Mabel and I spontaneously sprouted skateboards and backwards hats, and went to a new bakery PLUS H-Mart. Together. In the same car, like the extreme rule-breaking teenaged rebels that we are. :airgeet:

:dealwithit:

We made some impulse purchases, including a fancy box of fancy macarons and other baked goods, then I got a sauerkraut pounder, and a condiment bottle with a wider opening for chunky hot sauces, plus some regular groceries.

This is the normal I want back. The one where Mabel and I do dumb boring things together just to hang out. I want to go to shows and things again, of course, but mostly, I miss Mabel.

PS: Matlock has always been almost impossible to buy gifts for, but from now on, macarons.

FIFTEEN MINUTES TO WAPNER, MOTHERFUCKERS.

Received Dose No. 1 today at the pharmacy of a King Soopers in Denver. No. 2 is scheduled for 4/4. What with December's hospital stay, a recent lung cancer scare that turned out to be nothing, caring for a very sick dog, housework and trying to keep 35 or so balls in the air for work work without the benefit of going to the office, I was paying zero attention. Our very own ChuckF took it upon himself to get me scheduled up, and I am grateful AF.

Opening sentence of this post notwithstanding, I do not feel the least bit artistic. That must come after the second dose. :yup:

My sister alerted me to the fact that our age group is now able to book vax appts, from today apparently. Vax appts duly booked: dose 1 end of March, dose 2 12 weeks later.
