A county Republican party invited Walters to speak at a library in Norman, OK last night, and hoo wee Sweet Jesus Lawdy Lawd A-Mighty! Naturally, Walters is dead set against "critical race theory" in public schools. Someone asked him whether the Tulsa Race Massacre (which for a disconcertingly long time was called the Tulsa Race Riot, after efforts to keep the whole horrific incident under wraps finally fell apart) met Walters's definition of CRT. The obvious upshot of the question was, "If teaching that the massacre was race-based is CRT, and CRT has no place in public schools, then we can't teach about the massacre in public schools. Right?"

The answer . . . holy fucking fuckballs, the answer! +88 wingnut points for weaving "content of character" into that mess.

One of the attendees reportedly brought a recorded laugh track to the event. Yep. I can see that.

Stunned because it was published in Salon ffs. Angry because malevolent sophistry always has that effect on me (though to be honest, I probably don't always spot it if the target is someone I have no regard for #confirmationbias).

I found this amusing, I just learned that in 2023 Joe Rogan moved from California to liberal Austin Texas where he purchased a $14M exclusive Tuscan style lake side estate, becoming neighbors with other liberal actors.

He then bought a building in Austin and turned it into a comedy club, the Comedy Mothership is an ADA accessible venue that bans guns, phones and heckling.

They have been paid a lot to do not too much in the last few years, and we need to see that change. We need to see unemployment rise—unemployment has to jump 40, 50 percent, in my view. We need to see pain in the economy. We need to remind people that they work for the employer, not the other way around.
