Technically that’s a German H&K VP9, and goes for about $900 new. While 9mm is still quite effective against soft targets like family members, or a neighbor, it’s long since been defeated by multiple types of modern body armor.

As a bit of practical life advice, this is true. However, there is a better world where people are more careful with their guns and having one around a police officer isn't a death sentence.

I remember seeing a video of a NOLA cop doing a well check on an elderly lady after Katrina who panicked and tackled her after an otherwise normal conversation because she made the mistake of showing him she was armed.

I have a Sig Sauer P365 XMacro (top right) and a S&W MP9 2.0.



The Macro is way better than the MP9 and I kind of have buyer's remorse.
- Macro feels better in my hand, you need a very large hand to get a comfortable grip around the MP9.
- The Macro has a thin profile which isn't noticeable in the picture. If you're CC'ing, the Macro is significantly easier to carry. The MP9 has a bulge.
- The MP9 has a very rough grip texture. No, you're not a pussy with pussy hands for not liking it. It's unnecessarily coarse. The Macro has a "normal" coarseness IMO.
- The Macro has glow in the dark sights. Controversial, so maybe that's a negative, I like them for various reasons.
- Despite being compact, it has the same capacity as the full size MP9 of 17+1.
- Debatable and down to preference, but I like the stock trigger of the Macro over the MP9 2.0. The MP9 2.0 was supposed to have a much better trigger than the previous version though.

I'm not part of the gun community and never talk about guns IRL. TBH, I don't trust gun nuts and many of them seem fucking unhinged. I go to a good and expensive range where they watch everyone like a hawk and irresponsible gun handling will get you instantly banned, but I'm still worried about everyone else.

I have my license to carry, but never do. I've tried it, and never felt comfortable in public even though this is Texas where guns are your God given right come hell or high water. If I'm going somewhere where I feel like I should be armed, I'm just not gonna go there lmao.

I did all the right things, like taking classes which people tell you to do. I took the beginner and intermediate handgun class. I took the home defense class. I took the AR-15 fundamentals class. The instructors all seemed unhinged. They knew about all the gun mechanics and were a damn good shot for sure, but I didn't like their attitude.

Most people seem too nonchalant with firearms including the "responsible" ones. I feel like they've never seen graphic gore and death videos on the internet where someone gets their face blown off or a bullet hits their spine and they limp to the floor in pain, confusion, and paralysis. This isn't a video game where you can just respawn at a checkpoint if you fuck up.

It took me about 1000 rounds before I really felt comfortable shooting a 9mm. Most people with guns have nowhere near that much practice, including some cops lmao.

One moron with guns: My dad. He tried to get me into guns at a very young age. I think I was 10 or 11 when he pressured me to go quail and dove hunting in South Texas and placed a 20ga shotgun in my hand for the first time.

Do not give a child that has never held a firearm a fucking shotgun, dumbass. I don't care if it was normal when you were a kid, your parents were retarded too.

I was terrified the entire time, obviously uncomfortable, and I was fumbling with the gun. At one point he flipped out on me because I accidentally pointed it at him while I was reloading. Then he kept pressuring me to continue when that should have ended the trip immediately.

That's on you if I accidentally blew your head off mate. You're the one that was pressuring me into using this tool that is designed for killing when I clearly wasn't ready for it.
