339,000 new non-farm jerbs added in May, better than the 190,000 forecast by Dow Jones. That's 13 million in 28 months, more than during any other president's full 4-year term. Unemployment up to 3.7%, but 16 months of sub-4% is the longest such stretch since the 1960s. What with the MAGAts failing to force a default, the Dow was up over 700 points.
Clearly, this is the death knell for the Biden administration. I'm not entirely sure how, but the liberal () MSM will be along any minute to MSM-splain it.

ETA: Maturin is a sneaky in-between poster. My comment goes with the poasts before his.
There are film clips of Ford bumping his head multiple times. He could have just been clumsy, but given how he came to office, as well as the dirty shit that went down during his short-ish tenure, they also could have been carefully planned, to craft an image of a bumbler.
But I'm not any good at conspiracy theory, so I don't have even bogus evidence to back that up.

Shit as transparent as this clowncar scammer shit is why access to Trump’s mail list is the biggest list of suckers and losers in the history of the world.

Ooh. Can we send Ron and Elon in a Tesla into space?
Can we get a medical professional who knows a thing or two about the elderly and signs of impairment to step in on behalf of the president and his safety?
Although he is apparently the president of the philanthropic Musk Foundation, most people would think of him as a CEO.
I would like to point out, as a Generation X, that the Boomers continue to punch down on us by requiring 50-54 year olds to demonstrate work, while they enjoy, cardigan sweaters, unlimited health care without cost, pensions and FUCKING RETIRE ALREADY.

Being an early-stage Boomer, myself, I think that it time for all Boomers to be put out to pasture. (As long as you youngsters will promise not to plow under, and/or build over the pasture before we all croak.)
but y'all also gotta promise to come up with some better leaders than this current lot.

There's a bit in Patton Oswalt's last Netflix show where he opines that Trump was the Boomers' last temper tantrum, as Reagan was the Separate But Equal Greatest Generation's last temper tantrum.
He also speculated that GenX's last temper tantrum will be "beyond ugly," and result in Eddie Vedder, Janine Garofolo, or Joe Rogan in the White House.
Of course, all that was just a bit in a comedy show.
And as a pensionless Boomer with limited healthcare that comes at substantial out-of-pocket cost to me, I'd very much appreciate directions to the free healthcare and pension line, plzkthx. (I'm pretty sure we already have a cardigan sweater or two around here.) Of course, none of that applies to ol' handsome Joe, who could have retired a very long time ago. Given the shit that's gone down over the last decade or so, I'm kinda glad he didn't.

"That may have been true, but it was also a hint of the politics to come. Gen X is full of contradictions, but not surprises — at least not when it comes to politics. In 2024, and probably for many years afterward, the fate of the GOP will rest safely in the hands of Gen Xers such as Westrich. First they were latchkey kids and then they were slackers — but now, they’re Republicans."

Every so often, when reading about this, my step grandpa Doc pops into my mind. He was a smart surgeon who went to military college, would always have politics on TV and was a fan of Newt Gingrich. As a kid it always seemed like he was staying informed, but now I know he was being conned.
Which generation, as it ages, can collectively resist the con-artists?
I wonder how Gen alpha (or whatever post Gen Z is called) will handle things growing up in a world where deepfakes are the norm.
As a kid it always seemed like he was staying informed, but now I know he was being conned.
I struggle with this idea every day because the more I learn, the more convinced I become that it is not (and has never been) possible to be well-informed. The world is just far too complex. I think some of us are better informed than others, but I doubt very many people, if any, have access to all the information being well-informed requires.
He also speculated that GenX's last temper tantrum will be "beyond ugly," and result in Eddie Vedder, Janine Garofolo, or Joe Rogan in the White House.
I'm not sure if it's access to information is such a problem any more. If anything it's information overload. It's all about what information to reject and what information to accept. It's like the whole industrial information machine is built to exploit that concept. For instance, people will choose to believe what the Republicans say and reject anything a Democrat says, because most people want to choose WHO to believe and not WHAT to believe. Because it's hard to do things like assess motive objectively, as people tend to have very subjective opinions about the source of information. Like I had this girlfriend that lied to me all the time, blatantly, but it took me years to accept that fact because she was so damn hot. I believed what felt good.
Many people want to feel right but don’t care if they are correct. Which is understandable, feeling right is nice and our society seems designed to make people insecure and desperate to feel ‘right’ and once the desperation sets in the con-artists start to circle like vultures to the smell.
So anyway, Mike Pence has entered the ring, and I’m sure his attempts to convince the people who wanted to hang him for going against the Family will not seem like a desperate adult among children.
Evangelicals proffer the same "argument" for Trump as they've always advanced for various and sundry deplorables. "Look at King David. Dude was a piece of shit who sent a loyal soldier to certain death in battle so he could keep banging the soldier's wife. Yet God chose David. So too did God choose the old, incontinent, morbidly obese adderall junkie/serial rapist. Who are we to question God's choices?" That's some unassailably high-quality reasoning right there.
In other news, the dream is dead, you guys. New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu will not run for the GOP nomination.

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, a former Microsoft exec and vulture venture capitalist, is in. That'll help fill the gargantuan void created when Chris Sununu decided not to run.

"The grift from [Trump's] family is breathtaking. It's breathtaking. Jared Kushner & Ivanka Kushner walk out of White House and months later get $2 billion from the Saudis? $2 billion from Saudis. Do you think it was because he's some kind of investing genius?"
And ol' Chris ought to know, seeing as how he had a front row seat to Trump family grifting for years.

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez is joining the crowded Republican field for president, becoming the first Hispanic in the race who also contends he can broaden the appeal for Republicans nationally — especially to Hispanics.
Suarez, 45, filed official federal paperwork on Wednesday, just one day after Donald Trump’s arraignment in downtown Miami on charges that the former president hoarded classified documents at his estate in Palm Beach County.
