Default Mail Order Meat

I heard an advertisement for Moink on Michael Moore's "Rumble" podcast a month or so ago and decided to sign up for it. It seems to be a good way to support ethical farmers without giving money to Wholemazon. That said I'm sure the whole packaging and delivery process is not as sustainable as just buying from a local farmer would be, but I haven't sorted how to do that yet.

I don't have anything constructive to add to this thread besides that the title was begging for this to be posted,

My mom sends me stuff from Omaha Steaks all the time. They make a great steak seasoning.

I haven't tried Omaha but from what I can find online it seems they only prep, package, and distribute their meat, so it seems as likely as not to come from factory farms. The main appeal of Moink, for me, is that they specifically source from small family farms.

Genuinely curious, what is wrong with Amazon? Is there a general moral issue or is it just a bad place to purchase food? I already feel like I'm going to hell for patroning Walmart, I don't want to have the amazon thing on my conscience as well.

Tbh my issues with Amazon are the same as my issues with Walmart (i.e. big business that suffocates smaller businesses, exploits offshore labor, and treats its employees poorly) but I still use Amazon for nearly all my online shopping needs for the convenience of having all my payment and shipping info already stored and the fact that I use an Amazon credit card that gives me 5% cash back on Amazon purchases (plus 3% and 2% for gas and everything else respectively). Yet I won't set foot in Walmart, so I guess I'm not very morally consistent in this.

I am more successful than vm at avoiding Amazon. It may help that they're not that easy to use in :finland: and there are lots of other options in the UK. My reasons are pretty much the same, plus Jeff Bezos is a polished turd.

But I do leech off other people's Prime delivery services and Prime Video once in a while.

I use Amazon a lot. Being out on the prairie makes shopping in person a PIA.
It's half a day round trip to any big box. And Dollar General doesn't have "that".
But buying perishables from Amazon does not sound safe to me.

I was looking at Moink, and trying to play around with their menus. They might be doable. But "too much Chicken" was the Mrs' comment.
