I know this thread title seems like a troll, but this is something a lot of people really believe and I find the argument compelling. I'm not saying I believe it, just that I watched these videos when my brother sent them to me months ago and again just now, and it seems really plausible. Why is he wrong (about the problem or the proposed solution)? I know nothing about this guy's politics beyond what he says in these two videos. Most of his other videos seem to be about overcoming toxic masculinity or something.

Republicans have always been a more united voting bloc than Democrats (at least from the Southern Strategy onward). Over the past 20 years, I'd say they've only become more united - otherwise there'd be a much bigger schism over Trump.

Democrats have always been more fragmented, and have gotten more so lately as well. As party leadership keeps tacking to the right to try (often unsuccessfully) to avoid losing all of the rich donors' "moderate" votes, it further alienates everybody to the left of Michael Fucking Bloomberg.

Nobody has to be trying to lose.
