Re: The Resistance - Game Thread
Ok, in the future you guys might want to consider voting voting down a mission proposal or two. A lot of information can be gained by having people propose and vote on missions.
So the first mission will be Gonzo and Jerome. I need a PM from both of you with either the word FAIL or SUCCEED. if you are a Resistance Operative you must send in SUCCEED, if you are a spy you have a choice and can SUCCEED or FAIL the mission.

Re: The Resistance - Game Thread
The Resistance has succeeded in their first mission!
Mission | Result | Votes | Players |
---|
1 | Success | 2S | Gonzo, Jerome | 2 | | | | 3 | | | | 4 | | | | 5 | | | |
For mission 2 you will need to send 3 players. SR71 you are the current leader.
# | Player | |

1 | Adam | | 2 | SR71 | *Leader* | 3 | Kael | | 4 | Gonzo | | 5 | Jerome | |

Re: The Resistance - Game Thread
We still have not made any positive identifications, since either Jerome or Gonzo, or both, may have been spies and simply not wanted to blow their cover on the first mission. Is this correct? Therfor, my proposal is to simply go by roster number and choose Adam, Kael and Gonzo for mission 2. Feel free to talk it over or just go with it, whichever you prefer.

I considered voting down the mission with Jerome, but decided to just let it go ahead.

Interesting, why was your consideration?

I wanted to be agreeable. You haven't posted much so it seemed like Adam just picked you at random, though I'm sure he was using the process of elimination or something..

This is a math game, probabilities.
We need to test something new.

Re: The Resistance - Game Thread
It is also true that Adam could be a spy, correct? There a two spies, and if that were so, he would only have to get the other spy through the gate. Given that he chose me I am more inclined to believe he is an operative, but, yeah, maths.

SR71, is that an official proposal? If so, I think Crumb asked that it be bolded.

Re: The Resistance - Game Thread
Also, if that is your proposal, I don't like it. It muddies the water by sending two untested people plus Gonzo.
I'd prefer to send either JEROME and Gonzo plus someone else or all three untested people.

Thanks for the reminder. Yep, that's my plan, but I do not even remotely insist that anyone accept it out of hand. I will basically follow the consensus decision, so two out of three takes it, unless I am somehow persuaded to see things differently. Go ahead, discuss, discuss, this ain't the friggin' Army now, is it? You're all still free men.

Vote No, for the reasons already stated.
Crumb, can I unvote before the mission, or is my vote set in stone now?

Re: The Resistance - Game Thread
Hmm... If we send J and G, plus a third untested, and the mission fails it would lead us to suspect the third untested. But a successful mission doesn't pin anyone down for certain, because we know spies have the option of allowing a mission to succeed. It could well be that J or G (or both) are spies and allowed the first mission to succeed precisely for this reason, so that when an unknown was sent on a mission with whichever one is the spy later they could tank it and make the new guy look guilty as hell...
Obviously this can go in circles, but basically what I'm saying is: I don't see how SR71's idea provides us less potential information than what Adam said he would prefer. And the fact that Adam sent the first mission AND is very specific on what he thinks the second should be doesn't sit well with me.
On the other hand, I think Crumb's suggestion of voting down a few and looking at who was suggested for possible patterns is a good one. I know we can only vote down so many proposals, five I think (though I don't recall if it's total or consecutive that looses the game), but it's only the second proposal and it would only be the first voted down...
I'm going to think about it, I'll have my vote in this afternoon.

Five consecutive failed proposals will lose you the game.
