Well, OK.
Some of your duality examples are stretching it a bit.
While some are quite logical, Comparing comments about Wil Smith to Trump might be a tad over the top.

That one, I don't get.
But some are quite logical.

Not criticizing, really.
I think the Trump and Billary comparison, doesn't really work all that well, either, for somewhat obvious reasons.

And what the fuck is the thing about eating bugs?
I gotta ask.

But, the shoplifting thing does prove your point I think.

And, maybe I'm just bored. Being stuck in the house with a bum leg can do that to you.

Oh, and here's one for you.
Normally, I would go all up in the air about some guy hijacking another guy's web address. Web Privacy is a big deal in my book.

But turn your browser to shoptrumpsneakers.com and see what comes up.

I'm loving it.
Yeah, there's a bit of hypocrite in all of us, some days.

I'm truly sorry to hear that.

For what it's worth, hearing about what happened to your leg would be far more interesting than pretty much everything else on this forum. And I am not joking.

Also, I know it sucks. Especially if you are used to being active and out and about. I've been laid up before, it's not good.

I got back 13 days ago from a very busy trip (family funeral), and have worked everyday since. 13 days straight, no day off.

The fucked up thing? I can take as much time off as I want, any day, anytime. And I still work like crazy. I like being out and about, rather than at home.

I blame the money. I can 100% guarantee if I wasn't making money I wouldn't lift a finger lol, or leave the house.

As for the examples brought up, I will look into this later. Off to work once more.

Eh, well, you'll never know 'til you flip that switch.
Everybody got something to say.

It's so common, I consider it the norm for the unaware bigoted people.

Well, this pretty much establishes that your judgment as to whether two statements are or are not diametrically opposed is not to be trusted.

The first article is simply a discussion (and interview with a purveyor of edible crickets) about consumer resistance to eating bugs: Companies Face An Uphill Battle Trying To Get Americans To Eat Bugs : NPR

The second article describes a conspiracy theory being spread on 4chan, for example, that "'global elites' have a plot to control the masses — in this case under the guise of climate change solutions — by forcing them to eat bugs"; How "I will not eat the bugs" attacks Davos and leverages xenophobic tropes : Code Switch : NPR

Both titles are merely descriptive of the stories they tell.

Next maybe we should discuss mental blind spots.

Just kidding.

That never ever works.

It's the way the internet is going, no nuanced or researched thought, only out of context drama posts for max emotional winning.

For context,
in Dec 2021 Biden and his team had a zoom call with a family with four kids to wish them Merry Christmas, as the president traditionally does, the man thought himself so clever as to slip by a "Fuck You" for his troubles not fully realizing what he had done.

The man, a 35 year old with four kids who was previously a police officer before he resigned, liked to call into the NORAD tracker every year with his kids and was told the first lady would be taking calls. He had assumed it would be some automated thing and apparently in an attempt to be real the president was taking random non-pre-screened calls, making it a bit of a surprise when suddenly he was speaking to the president.

He then went on Oregon live to say that he didn't really mean it, it was a joke, and he respects Biden, only to then go on Steve Bannon's show to claim he really meant it and the election was stolen and Trump won, basically saying what he thinks people want to hear in the moment because he wasn't expecting to be in the limelight.

That I had to look up context to make a copy and dump post make sense, really solidifies not bothering with any of it. It's just rage bots and dumb videos all the way down.
This will be my only post to this thread.

... it would be better to use examples that involve physics, a branch of science that "mostly" isn't contentious, especially among educated scientific people.

This means involving actual data, and also exposing the political bias, the corruption and blind spots, a much more daunting proposition.

That being said, this one certainly makes the point.

There are LOTS of people who read that and don't see any contradiction. I'm certain the author does not.
