California made an attempt but Gavin Frickin Newsom is either drug conservative or wanting to appear more centrist for his presidential run, has vetoed both safe injection sites and decriminalization.
The other sad reality is that legalization is soon going to be running up against approved therapeutic treatment, which is good in all ways except it will probably be $15k a treatment if we're lucky.

HI! I work at the post office now. Our kid had his first job/internship this summer. My mom is 92 years old this Saturday, but our kid's other grandma just died in October.
I'm very tired working at the post office, so much overtime.

The Mrs' immune system has been compromised ever since the infection that led to her heart surgery. She managed to acquire pretty much every one of the nasty bugs going around the last few years, including some nasty new version of RSV, that seems to prefer Adults. So far, surviving every bug, but it takes a lot out of her.
Most recently, Shingles made a call. That has had her down since March. She finally seems to be making headway with getting THAT behind her.
And just this morning, the granddaughter comes home with a Positive for the new version of COVID. Apparently, everybody in town is getting it.
FUCK! The last thing we need, I think.
So, we are locking ourselves in the RV and camping out for the next couple of weeks as we head south for Florida to stay ahead of the Winter. Back roads. Self-serve gas stations, Roadside parks, and we practice the Hermits' life on the road.
Thanks to Starlink, we can stay in touch without actually touching anyone.

Last weekend of October my mom and I went on a 4-day "wellness retreat" in the greater Mt. Shasta area. We did hiking, yoga, meditation, massage, sound baths, plant-based food, yadda yadda. She was supposed to take her friend but her friend bailed so I got to go instead. Yay! I actually got a ton out of it. I spent a lot of the time journaling and sketching and working through some traumas.
I have indeed been feeling relatively well since I got back. We'll see how long it lasts. Have I been meditating daily, or taking advantage of any of the other tools in my wellness toolkit? Of course not, don't be silly.

Mrs. Reasons got really sick over the weekend - not COVID, just a real nasty cold. I think my son and I have picked it up. I have that "tonsils are inflamed" feeling and am feeling a bit chilly. I'm going to go to bed early today and see if it gets worse.

We've been hanging around Wichita for a few days, thinking of heading south into Texas, but now the weather is turning, and it's gonna be wet and windy, and maybe even snow.
We're heading back toward Cheyenne. They're looking at a week of sunny days in the 60s, then over to Omaha and down the Mississippi to New Orleans for Turkey day.
At least, that's the current plan.

I have to go to Toronto for a meeting the week after Thanksgiving. I am absolutely dreading the business and will be in town for <36 hours so no time to enjoy the city, but I am looking forward to spending my Canadian spare change. Every time I get a Canadian quarter or whatever I add it to a little bag of change left over from my last trip. I have like $12 to spend at a vending machine somewhere.

I really really REALLY want to be a grandma. I threw up for the first time in quite a while — not entirely sure why, had a headache and felt nauseous. It was quite dramatic, so much so that the dogs were barking at me. It also kind of ruined my plans for today.
