Re: Maps are fun, so is food.
Countries scaled (preserving their rough shapes amazingly well) by the number of country domains registered. The US looks small because of all y'all's fixation on using .com.
What's that massive one in the Pacific? It's Tokelau, a New Zealand territory with 1,400 residents in 4 sq.mi. but more than 31 million .tk websites.
Also note that on this map Luxembourg is truly medium-sized.
This map of domain names flips the world on its head

Re: Maps are fun, so is food.
I'm struck by the numbers of states with no data.
Are those plains states (if such you call them) too dispersed in population? Too poor to eat? Too self-sufficient to order out?

That chunk there, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North and South Dakota, has I think 30-odd people between them, so definitely the first one. Arkansas and Mississippi get "delivery" of whatever Clem hit with his truck on the way over. Vermont and Maine I'm not sure. Probably nobody to do the deliveries half the year, too damn cold.

They got me pegged. I get pizza, burgers, Mexican food, Vietnamese food often as take out. The only thing we ever get delivered is Chinese food. But I think that is mostly because those other places don't deliver.

I don't know what this cinnamon sticks nonsense is. Are we counting the dessert stuff that pizza places carry? Are there a lot of people that just order dessert?

Re: Maps are fun, so is food.
I wonder how many Luxembourg-sized countries we could fit inside Oklahoma?
If Oklahoma were a storage unit...

You wonder. I find out.
Oklahoma is 69,899 sq mi, ie about 70,000 sq mi
Luxembourg is 998 sq mi, very close to 1,000 sq mi
So ... about 70 Luxembourgs.
That site thetruesize.com allows you to overlay more than one copy of each country, but it gets a bit tedious.

Which also means you can carve up to 70 Luxembourgs out of 1 Oklahoma.

Re: Maps are fun, so is food.
Sorta, but it is pronounced rain-ear, nor rain-ee-er.
I'd rather we were part of Rainier than Shasta though. Or we should be named Columbia.
