Nah, not really. The U.S. remains quite completely doomed, although recent events will allow us to pretend otherwise for a little while.

Certainly. As already-staggering wealth inequality grows by leaps and bounds, with the attendant rise in crippling poverty, right wing authoritarianism will achieve previously undreamt-of levels of popularity.

In the end, though, it doesn't matter. Humanity is destined to meet the same fate as over 99% of all species that ever lived on this planet, becoming just another closed-ended biological accident.

I think that different America equals different world. I don't ignore the role of the other international powers but I think that there is a large part of the world that America has the ability to change directly.
