Now that is an awesome post right there.

Fighting over how to write a date is like dancing about climate change.

The day means nothing with out the month

And the month means nothing with out the year

But the year means less than nothing with out the month and day

I'm sure somewhere there is some fucked up society that tells you, "I need you to tell me the year first, then the month, then the actual day of the month, but leave out the day of the week. But then give me the time of the day at the end, but only in a format that does not tell me early morning or afternoon."

So instead of

"I will see you at 2 pm Tuesday, January 31, 2023"

You would get

"I will see you on 2023 January 31 1400 hours EST"

(Which is of course the international standard)

Fuck you international standards.

In a slightly related matter

Has anyone else noticed this truly awful thing, where a web article simply has no date it was published? And often, no author?

This is not a joke.

yyyy-mm-dd is preferred by computer programmers, because, when you need to sort dates into order, an ordinary sort, as would be used on words, will do the job. For the same reason, they like the time after the date, and in 24-hour format.

I just found out about Jordan Peterson, in like the last 6 months. I think there was some "woke as fuck" people trying to censor him, cancel him, which these days that usually means Peterson must be saying some shit that is true.

And of course he was. The mind cancer that is "the woke" (not the actual woke movement, which was about blacks realizing how discrimination and white society was fucking them over, which is true), this mind cancer is such insanity, that as is usually the case, the weak minded and socialist/communist minded want to kill anyone who disagrees with their total bullshit, or put them away where nobody can speak with them.

And of course the "woke as fuck" assholes don't realize they are the complete assholes, not the people pointing out their hypocrisy and hate.

If this bothers you, then yeah, I'm talking about you.

Climategate was/is a great example of how the "woke as fuck" movement collides with the lunatic fringe on the other side. Which is so twisted it would be funny if it was just a movie on the TV

I see how this game works: say something stupid and whoever disagrees is "woke as fuck" or "triggered". If you have an attitude like that, it's no wonder it feels like the world is against you. The truth is you're against the world.

Last year Peterson came in for scathing criticism from climate scientists after claiming climate models were mostly useless. Peterson had badly misunderstood how models work, they said, with one saying: “He sounds intelligent, but he’s completely wrong.”
Oh, I see you’re familiar with his work.

Personally, I go with “ostensibly intelligent, but lacking substance”

You can tell how accurate climate models are, and how good the climate science is, by how they warned us years ago about the record breaking winter cold, and snow, and ice, that has been happening for the last 13 years now.

Unlike a "global temperature average", which is a made up number, people tend to notice the actual real temperature that affects them.

And yes, the same climate experts are going to "after the fact" blame the record cold on global warming, which they will call climate change, and then they will explain how it's warmer than ever, which is making it colder than ever.

Then some idiots online will masturbate furiously and declare victory.

Nah, people are highly biased towards noticing and recalling extraordinary events, especially ones that fit their preconceived worldviews. In climate as well as everywhere else.

That's usually true.

The problem for the global alarmists is that there have been an increasing number of extreme cold events, which then are claimed to be from it being warmer, which is bullshit. And everybody notices bullshit.

OK not everybody, but sane rational people do.

There is an example of the bullshit that pops up AFTER it is impossible to just had wave away the increasing cold, and the damage from it.

Back in the 80s/90s they were predicting this kind of activity.

Extremes (Low and high) are increasing, and the mean temperatures are indeed rising.
22 million sq km of Greenland's Icescape has melted, and much of it evaporated into the atmosphere. The Northern hemisphere has seen record snowfall and rainfall. You think there might be a connection?

The Climate, she is changing, Señor.
