I'm still waiting for the Giles spin-off.

In truth I had more than a little help, and they're not all mine. More than half the BTVS dvd's belong to my roommate and I received the others as gifts. I was also gifted with Firefly, Serenity and the first two seasons of Angel. I only actually bought seasons 3-5 of Angel.

Not even to protest Firefly's cancellation?

After 3½ episodes I am beginning to think you are right. It is brilliant! Perhaps the network found it too expensive. After all the sets and effects are pretty good/amazing for a tv show.
BTW, do you have favourite seasons of the other shows? Who is more of an story arc person, and who prefers the monster-of-the-week episodes?

Story arc, definitely.
Have you discovered the episode guides and (very much to my taste) reviews at Buffy and Angel?

Hmm. I forgive you. Maybe.

I use the resources at Buffyworld.com. They have transcripts of all the BtVS and AtS episodes, which have been invaluable.
How come your post wasn't showing up as the last post?
Great av, VM!

Re: Joss Whedon is God
I'm at work so I don't have time to review the series' and comment on my favorite seasons, but I'll do that later. Right now I'll just say don't get too attached to my current puppet-Angel avatar, 'cause a replacement (same puppet, different style) is in the works.
Oh, and speaking of online Buffyverse resources, I really like All Things Philosophical on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel: The Series (though I've been putting off reading a lot there until I'd seen all of both shows - which I now have).

Re: Joss Whedon is God
I am more of a monster-of-the-week person myself, which is probably why I like the 1st and 5th seasons of Angel the best. The second season was all about the Darla/Dark Angel arc, season three was all Holtz/Connor and season four was that really annoying Cordelia/Beast/Jasmine arc. Why can't they just keep the status quo and leave the series the way the fans found and fell in love with it, in the beginning?!?
Arcs ruined the X-files, major trauma there.
I have yet to see beyond Season 3 of Buffy, although I have ordered 4 & 5, should get them next week.
I have seen the first disc of Firefly, but not further, as I watched three of the four episodes twice so I could get the commentaries too.
Looking forward to an av update. I take it it will be "normal" puppet Angel?

Re: Joss Whedon is God
As you can tell by my sig, I love Firefly. I have the series, the movie and a complete set of trading cards (which I used to make my sig). I also have "The Ballad Of Serenity" and "The Hero Of Canton" on my iPod. I would love to have a Hero of Canton dashboard icon, But I can't find one anywhere. Oh, I also have a shirt that says "I'm going to the special hell" and a licence plate holder that says "Define interesting - Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die".

That's awesome, a great pic. Smile Time was one of the first episodes I saw, and ultimately the one that persuaded me to buy the rest of the series.
Evening shift at work, so I should probably get another 2-3 episodes of Firefly bagged then. And one now; off to the excercise bike, doubletime!

It's Illyria , and I think he only loved her Fred parts.

Re: Joss Whedon is God
I don't know. I think she grew (or would that be shrunk in her case?) as a person towards the end, and was becoming much more likable. Perhaps it was the "fredness" in her that kept Wes interested, but I do think he also liked the Fred/Illyria combination.

Okay, I reckon I can see that. I'd say his affection for Illyria was more fatherly, though, and more romantical for the shell.

Re: Joss Whedon is God
Definitely. In my opinion Angel consistently improved every season instead of having dramatic lows throughout and a painfully lame last season, like BTVS.

Re: Joss Whedon is God
Painful bad? Maybe not as good as the others (already my memory is failing me) but surely not as bad as the Riley's a blood junkie or Glory story arcs of BTVS.
