Sheriff's Deputy Mark Maggs was sent a letter by election opponent and current Sheriff Lenny Gramkow saying he was terminated moments after the race was called.
What a baby.

My condolences to any Ontario residents tonight. Another reason first-past-the-post is one of the worst ideas in politics.

The results show how much good could be done in the US if the Democrats split into two parties.
Good for Republicans, that is.
Why it is the NDP and Liberals can't get along? Doesn't seem like either of them should prefer the Tories to having to work together, but I'm not a Canadian.
Perhaps they could have some kind of election before the election to determine which part of the Liberal-NDP coalition would be in charge... a "primary", if you will... Plurality voting is just generally a stupid electoral system, but if you have to work with it, primaries are a reasonable way of dealing with some of these issues...
If you think that's wild, check out the current British Columbia legislative assembly composition. Have a basket handy because your head might attempt to unscrew and fall right off.

Dear people citing The Bible: It’s a cool book with some wonderful passages but it also has ghost sex & giants & super babies & demons. It’s why we don’t make laws based on Game of Thrones, My Little Pony or Legend of Zelda.
For example, you should never let the King of Thieves gain power.
For non-Zelda nerds, Ganondorf, the primary antagonist of the series, is also known as the King of Thieves. It also wouldn't be the most inaccurate way to describe a habitual fraudster like Trump.
