Gonjasufi - A Sufi and a killer

Which is a very weird album I must say, even for me :D

It is pychedelica and hiphop, indie rock and Sufi music (Islamic devotional music, some familiar tunes there).

Bought this in the country music store in Gruene, Texas, which surprised me somewhat because of the lyrical content. I am already liking it muchly in both music and lyrics.

Small Blue Thing by Susanne Vega

I've decided that if someone were to want to know me, all they'd have to do is listen to her :notes:

I like/relate 99% of her songs.

I was listening to A-punk by Vampire Weekend, but then I decided to pick up the phone (it's my ringtone).

So Madonna hasn't totally lost her touch. Nice.

I love this song, even though (maybe because of?) it totally rips off ABBA:

I was watching some British reality show (Rich, Famous, and Homeless), and Johnny Cash's rendition of Hurt was the take out song. Something about his version made the lyrics hit harder and I got all misty eyed...so I went and watched a live performance of NIN. Damn now I am depressed, think I need a party song.

I have a lot of South African music but this is an incredibly good compilation :chairdance:

And only one song I already had (Mbube, by Solomon Linda, aka the original of Lion sleeps tonight, which is one of the oldest tracks, from 1939)

ETA: Oh, here's another song I already had on some other compilation.

But still!
