Tuesday again, and so a new (since March) record number of daily COVID deaths in the UK. 174 this time. Whoo nelly, my company had quite an all-hands meeting this morning on complying with the federal mandate. We have government contracts, so it's not like management has a choice at all, and they're bending over backwards to try to accommodate those with "medical or religious" exemptions, as well as assorted anti-vax morons that I didn't even know we had.

The last research I looked at suggests natural immunity varies and can drop off significantly in a year, so we’re potentially heading into a time where people who got covid early on in the pandemic but didn’t get the vax have a good chance of reinfection especially since they’re walking around pretending they’re immune.

At the moment the best longest lasting immunity seems to be to get covid, survive with a strong immune response still intact and *then* get the vax.

According to the Doc treating the Mrs, Having COVID and surviving does not necessarily grant continued immunity. Maybe for a few months, but not permanently.

They have two current cases in the Hospital, who are on their second bout with the Bug. A lot probably depends upon the variants.
And it's worth noting that we are in an extremely rural area. I shudder to think what the re-infection rate might be in a City.

For the Record, The Mrs survived COVID, and is now in rehab. She has decided that after the delay required following treatment with Monoclonal Antibodies, she will reconsider receiving the Vaxx.

Reading about a San Francisco cop, Jack Nyce, 46, who was among the 41 officers put on leave for refusing SF’s Nov. 1st vaccine requirement.

He tested positive for covid Tuesday 11/2. His symptoms got so severe, his wife called EMTs to rush him to the hospital. He died Saturday.
