Speaking of which, allow me to present Castle Beyskull, Brickingham’s humble castle facade.
It even favors Castle Greyskull a little with the two towers and the balconies looking a little like eyes.
So you can see how narrow the build is.
Here it is in place in the windowsill. It’s partially obstructed by the gatehouse.

Re: This Old House of Bricks
Been working on Brickingham. I rearranged a little just so Brickingham wouldn’t be so empty.
I finished the wall structure, need to do final greebling (I’m intending a good bit of ivy growing on the pillars.

I sometimes look through BrickLink for weird looking pieces. In part because they are difficult to use, you can find them cheaper than other pieces. I liked this piece so I bought like 20 of them. It’s the top of Brickingham’s wall.
I tiled the wall and added the Ivy that I wanted.
Closer view of wall
Brickingham overall. The castle on the left will eventually be moved back out, I just wanted the area to have stuff.

So now I have a question ... does the LEGO community overlap with the 3D printing community? Is it practical to 3D print bricks ... and if so is it cheating?

Re: This Old House of Bricks
Yes, although LEGO (the company) often post take-down notices on the sites where you can download the stl files to print any of the standard LEGO bricks.
The 3D printed bricks from regular consumer-grade 3D printers aren't as smooth or quite as accurate as the true LEGO bricks. Good for custom bricks though (say you want to print a brick with a 17-degree angle between top and bottom surfaces, or one that's 10% taller than a regular brick). Also, you can print in any colour you want (assuming you can find that colour filament for your printer) - you can get sparkly, and fluorescent filaments. You can also buy more advanced printers that can print bricks with more than one colour.
I don't think it's cheating. But if you do too much customization, there comes a point where you might as well just design and print the complete model as a collection of 3D-printed parts, and not bother to use LEGO at all.

Re: This Old House of Bricks
Ivy came back through and adjusted her work.
The flowers on the left and right are from the same lineage, the ones in the middle are a separate lineage.
I did a dihybrid cross with the two traits being color and petal count.
The resulting flower count is 54/18/18/6 (for pink/petal count) and 27/9/9/3 for red/petal count.
I added a bit of weirdness by adding a green flower to each homozygous dominant Pink flower.

Been working on Castle Beyskull. I added another floor with these cool Lion pieces that I had and some fun corner pieces that have flower stickers. I also added some plant life.
The King and Queen.
Brickingham
Better view of the floor I added, you can see the snake printed pieces I used, and you can see Princess Macy hangining out with Hermione.
View of abd through the gatehouse.

Re: This Old House of Bricks
So the other day I came across some cool decals for Lego. The decals fit old castle panel pieces in particular.
Some of them look like Tudor style architecture and others are just dark gray bricks.
I bought a few.
I intend to make a couple of Tudor style taverns/inns for Brickingham.
Today, I applied the brick decals to the top layer of Brickingham’s gatehouse (and I also did a small rebuild.
This is the before picture.
I really like how the gatehouse looks now. I do intend to add some of the decals to the lower levels of the gatehouse.

The Green Dragon Tavern is now serving fine ales and smokeable intoxicants.
Here it is by itself.
View in Brickingham.
Alice is outside pregaming, I guess she doesn’t like tavern prices.
Of course, the roof comes off as is my wont. The top floor is for chasing the dragon. We have two hookahs, one blue one green, very different highs.
Alternate view of smoke lounge.
Ground floor is all about bards and drinks.

Re: This Old House of Bricks
As I'm sure you've seen, and if not you can learn it here, there are people selling Lego molotov cocktails and Lego Volodymyr Zelenskyy figures for the benefit of Ukraine.
The UK TV programme The Last Leg has just commented that Lego is a good representation of Zelenskyy: started out trying to entertain, but step on him and you really hurt yourself.

Re: This Old House of Bricks
I just realized that I didn’t post my wizard hall. I will correct this oversight soon.
But right now, I’m posting my current midbuild.
I’ve got a bunch of the black and white tudor decals and pieces to put them on.
I built the base first while waiting on some pieces and decals.
It’s on top of a gray raised baseplate.
I shared this on Facebook.
I try to think of a story to help guide my build.
I’ve decided that this is the estate of Lord and Lady Caballero.
As is their custom, the current Lord Caballero married into the family. The estate passes through the female line.
Their family name refers to their long history of serving in martial roles for Brickingham’s defense.
The house guards are in red and white, but they also serve in the Dragon corps.
In addition to knights and fighters, they raise and train horses.
I’ve got a long way to go, but I’ve got a story and a rough layout.
I feel pretty good about where I’m at.
I’m thinking a sword tiled in the entrance, maybe red for blood.
The roof is going to be challenging.

I agree with Lego’s stance about weapons of war.
But this isn’t an official Lego thing, I think the look cute. Ukraine could use some help in the future.
I also think that the brick Molotov cocktail is in fine keeping of the humor of a Molotov cocktail. It’s black humor.
Ukraine has been invaded.

Brickingham’s Wizard Hall.
I started with those Tudor printed decals.
I built this dollhouse style with a removable roof.
I’ve never built doll house.
I used bookshelves from the Diagon Alley bookstore. They look awesome.
So there is roof access for dragons.
The bottom floor is a shop for spells and books of lore on one side and a shop for potions and magical gems on the other.

Re: This Old House of Bricks
With ES being employed once more, we are buying Lego once more. ES has a couple things coming for her bday, but I thought she could enjoy Optimus Prime early.
She contends that’s cuz Optimus isnt really for her, but I don’t know why she says that.
I did these two smaller builds, Wolverine and Black Panther mechs. This is the first Xman Lego set in some years.
Here Prime is in progress.
T’Challa and Logan protect Brickinghham from a dragon.

Re: This Old House of Bricks
I wasn't convinced that the jetpack and the energon axe were canonical, so we watched More Than Meets the Eye, the three-part premiere of the 1984 cartoon, for free on tuvee (?).
Prime manifests the energon axe in Part 2, during the fight with Megatron atop Sherman Dam, which was honestly pretty dope. Then he "borrows" the jetpack from Sideswipe (terrible name) in Part 3, which he immediately crashes, so that was hilarious but far less dope.
Up next I need to assemble the guitar for Voltron ... definitely not canonical.

Lego 10304 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
ES and I completed this one together taking turns on bags.
Bag 1, I did this one, not to exciting yet.
Bag 2-ES
Bag 3 -me- started engine bay
Bag 4- ES -those sexy heavy Camaro doors
Bag 5- me- finished engine bay and the engine. Lego Chandra has a 302, Chandra has a 383 stroker
ES did bags 6 and 7, so I could finish with bag 8. The rest of the interior and that long cowl induction hood.
Lego Chandra finished
