I've been following her for a while. The instrument reminds me of Laurie Anderson.

Former Talking Heads members Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew got together with nine other musicians a couple of weeks back to perform at a music festival in Florida. The show was almost exclusively T-Heads tunes, but they threw in one King Crimson song from Belew's time with that band.

Here they are doing my favorite T-Heads song. Belew still gets it done.

Never heard of either of these guys, but here are the bassist and guitarist who'll be touring with Porcupine Tree (Steven Wilson, Richard Barbieri, Gavin Harrison) this fall:

Suffice it to say I'm impressed.

We saw Steve Hackett last night and it was spectacular. Hackett and his long time compadres Roger King (keys), Rob Townsend (sax, flute, etc.) and Nad Sylvan (vocals) were their usual terrific selves, and relative newcomers Jonas Reingold of Flower Kings fame (bass, guitar, vocals) and Craig Blundell (drums) were awesome as well.

First set, which was Hackett solo tunes, only lasted 30-35 minutes. That guitar solo on Every Day still gives me chills, same as when I first heard it decades ago. I admit paying little to no attention to Hackett's most recent stuff, but the tunes he played last night could change that.

The second set was the Genesis double live album Seconds Out in its entirety, and DAMN. Firth of Fifth remains one of the most moving songs I've ever heard. Make no mistake - Nad has real trouble singing Supper's Ready, but hey, I'll give him a pass on that. Peter Gabriel had problems with that one as well, and Phil Collins on the Seconds Out live version was arguably one of the top 5 rock vocal performances of all time, an unfairly high bar if ever there was one. Last night's Supper's Ready, the full 26-27 minute blowout version, was outstanding despite the occasional vocal failings. The set featured multiple new takes and arrangements, including a version of I Know What I Like (in Your Wardrobe) that replaced the iconic Phil Collins tambourine thing with mindblowing solos from Townsend and Hackett.

They'll be touring for some time to come, and fwiw I highly recommend this here show.

I am quite completely heartbroken, as The Pineapple Thief ended up stranded in Texas when they were supposed to be performing here in lolorado on Monday night. Refunds will issue, and the show will not be rescheduled. :sadcheer:

So then, my concert schedule is bone dry from now until August. :faint: Plenty can still go wrong, but The Pineapple Thief's drumming god, Gavin Harrison, is scheduled to be back here with his other band, Porcupine Tree, in September.

Anyhoo, here's Opeth's Mikael Akerfeldt doing soundtrack work for the Netflix series Clark:

Danzig. All the albums I have in MP3 form. Because I'm evil, yeah, and love is gone.
