At least Matlock isn't suffering cognitive decline. Can't say the same for me.

Re: BREAKING: Sometimes Famous People Die
Oh man. Feeling a little extra ancient right about now.
Vangelis was actually in the running to play keyboards for Yes when Rick Wakeman left in 1974. Yes ultimately hired Patrick Moraz, and Vangelis went on to a fine solo career as well as pumping out four gorgeous albums with Yes singer Jon Anderson. Been a long time, but tonight's a good night for listening to some Jon & Vangelis.

Ray Liotta dies aged 67
That comes as an unwelcome surprise.

Re: BREAKING: Sometimes Famous People Die
Also long time Yes drummer Alan White, aged 72..
I'm a fan of Bill Bruford's drumming, but Alan clocked up many more years with Yes than Bill.

Re: BREAKING: Sometimes Famous People Die
Oh man, Alan White was terrific. I'm a long-time fan of Bruford, but I always thought White was a better fit for for the stuff Yes played from about 1972 on. He's been pretty severely debilitated in recent years, but that music they pumped out will live on.
And here he is tearing it up with fellow departed Yes man Chris Squire.
If you're into tributes, here's a bunch from White's family, current Yes men Steve Howe, Geoff Downes, Billy Sherwood, Jon Davidson and Jay Schellen along with Yes alums Jon Anderson, Tony Kaye, Bill Bruford, Rick Wakeman and Trevor Rabin.

Re: BREAKING: Sometimes Famous People Die
TIL there's more to that song than the first four notes, which of course I recognized immediately from Twin Peaks.
