Search engine spiders indexing things.

Spiders are basically bots that follow links, index what they find, follow any links they find, index those pages, etc, and then every so often return to see if there are any changes.

Anytime you use google to search FF instead of the FF search bar, the results you see are because a little google bot guest visited the post in question.

There's probably also other robots for Bing and maybe some less savory ones.

There's a file called "robots.txt" that well-behaved companies will use, let me google that for you...

...and that's why things you post in the Cloaca don't (or shouldn't) show up in Google searches. Because we request that robots/spiders not index that forum.

Isn't a step beyond that? Afaik you have be logged in to see the Cloaca, and search spiders don't even try to register.
