1941 was pure shit. I also don't revere Close Encounters the way many critics do. Jaws was groundbreaking, yadda yadda, but if I were to watch one of them again now? Probably Duel.

Only seen three of them. It's been a long time for any of them, but I'd watch all 3 again so they can all get a vote.

Re: Friday Poll #12 - This means something!
I've seen 1941, Jaws and Close Encounters.
1941 is a comedy that's rarely actually funny, despite the cast. It's sometimes entertaining, though.
Jaws is top-notch. I'd have no trouble saying that's my favorite.
Close Encounters is more problematic because Richard Dreyfuss's character is kind of a bad person, but it's an amazing film in so many ways.

I loved Close Encounters as a kid, and I really liked Jaws but I think I didn't see it until it was hyped into the stratosphere so I don't remember loving it as much. I don't know that I've seen any of the others.

Re: Friday Poll #12 - This means something!
I liked all of them.
But, Duel, was frickin' AMAZING, especially if you know how he did it.
Not a lot of bells and whistles, not much in special effects. No Aliens, or fancy technology. Simple Filmography, a lot of emotion, tension and suspense.
The rest of them have plenty of accolades, and show off Spielberg's budding Talents.
Duel is one I will watch again any time it shows up.
Jaws comes in second place. I would watch it again, if nothing else is on.
The rest are pretty good films, and if someone I was visiting wanted to watch them, I might hang around.
