Hello Ladyshea!

I haven't disappeared, I just haven't been responding to you. You want me to talk about your post, and lots of other people want me to talk about theirs. It's nice to be in such demand! It allows me to put you into a queue - your enquiry will be dealt with, but I can't promise not to leave it till last.

5 days ago you told me not to bother talking to you at all. I think you have a cheek now to complain about being ignored. You said you were going to prevent yourself from seeing anything I wrote in future. 42 hours later you show that you don't take your own words seriously. If I can't take you at your word over such a simple matter, how can I learn to trust anything you say?

Mick

Are you sure you don't understand passive aggression? 'Cause you're really damned good at it.

And 'zeke, I never thought you were passive-aggressive. Crazy as a loon on acid, but not passive-aggressive.

That's fine. I explained why I took you off ignore, to see if I had made too quick a judgment about your desire to discuss honestly. Had I in fact made an incorrect snap judgment, I would have stated that I had made a mistake and apologized.

Nothing we are discussing requires any level of trust, so what's with the drama?

quit being a cunt mick.

either reaspond to her or dont but this is just bullshit.

on the other hand, i thought ls was showing good sense with the early ignoring of you.

is this a metagame for you mick?

seeing how passive aggressive you can be in a thread that purportedly gets to the bottom of the whole passive aggressive issue??????

if so its kind of cute in a juvenile-performance-art-cunt kind of way.

Passive aggression tends to be more condescending, I think.

But sometimes I think certain people need to be condescended to. How else will they know how inferior they are?

Of course, it's pretty annoying when someone acts that way towards you.

Well, I may be a homo, but I'm pretty sure if your (adult) head will fit up it, it's not a cunt. At least not a human cunt.

Hello Zadalya!

Arguing is fine and good when when disagrees - I find it important. But argument for the mere sake of argument feels inauthentic.

I think you are assuming that I don't feel strongly about 'the issue', and that would be a mistake. I do feel very strongly about 'it'. However, the first thing to realise is that we may not be talking here of the same issue. I don't care much about Bush being called an asshole. (Though I think that's a weak and inarticulate way of expressing an anger at his administration which needs to be understood better and expressed more constructively.)

I do care a lot about dishonest journalism, and I also care about group prejudice. This is the freethought forum and I am angry at the response from viscousmemories and others to my attempt to discuss my thoughts on those issues.

but like being a freethought forum didnt you pretty much expect disagreement.

now, im not calling you a liar, my fine feathered friend, but you seem reasonably intelligent so performance art makes alot more sense to me than an honest exchange of ideas.

but i will play along.

who is doing this dastardly dishonest journalism?

and who has exhibited group prejudice?

cant we all just hate bush independently for similar and dissimilar reasons?

and i have seen groupthink argued before, it seems to boil down to a group of people who post somewhere and agree with each other on some major issues are doing so cuz of group think.

now do i think that group dynamics plays a role at freethoughtforum, well fuck yeah, we are a social group after all.

but groupthink has some pretty insidious connotations that i dont think are appropriate and i see and have seen no evidence that group dynamics plays a major role in the construction of my fellow members world views or their specific opinions about bush.
