Well, I was really more referencing this:

People who identify their ethnicity as "Canadian" are most concentrated in Quebec.

And the fact that the name of Canada comes from Quebec.

So I'm wondering in the event that the rest of Canada were to join the United States (however it happened) whether Quebec would be more inclined to rename itself Canada. Since they are the real Canadiens.

I asked a friend who resides in Quebec. After much indecipherable mutterings, here is the gist of his reply:
"Were such an abomination take place, The name Canada will have been so desperately besmirched that no honorable man would wish to be associated with it. I would expect Quebec to secede from Canada and remain Quebec. Chances are good that the maritime provinces would follow Quebec. And, unlike the US, they would likely remain Bilingual."

I'd be lying if I said I didn't look to see if there were any jobs in Canada for my line of work, but my line of work is mostly public sector and I gotta imagine pickings would be slim to nonexistent for those kinds of jobs for an American.
