For the first time, I think, I got into a situation where all the possible guesses were inconsistent, and I couldn't see what mistake I must have made earlier.
Also I just realized that I can paste into the quick reply box, and as long as I preview post, it seems to be fine, it's just if I try to reply there that it fails.

i'm now really curious whether I will consistently do better if I retry puzzles. My memory is fuzzy enough that I think by next-day I won't actually remember the solutions, but I might be picking up cheap hinting anyway.

Barb's fault, she started a complicated conversation next door while I was doing it. The key problem is I placed a thing incorrectly (which was fine), deleted a yellow square... and then couldn't remember where the yellow square had been.
