Don’t bad mouth Jodie Foster. In fact why bring her in to this. We do a getting to know you thing at work and one question asked is Who would you want to play you in a movie. She is my answer.

Well I mean he had to point out unfortunately for him she was a lesbian. What does that have to do with the price of gas in America?

Shelby, I'm gay. I like Jodie Foster. I don't think her being a lesbian is bad. You might want her to play you in a movie, and that's nice and all, but she's a lesbian. If you think that's a bad thing about her, then sorry for you. Maybe she wouldn't want to play you in that case.
It's just funny because Hinckley went to extraordinary lengths to impress someone who would never be interested in him that way.
As for what she has to do with anything, John Hinckley Jr. tried to assassinate Reagan in an attempt to impress Jodie Foster. Possibly he was inspired by the fact that in
Taxi Driver, the movie that started his Foster obsession, the main character Travis Bickle attempts to assassinate a presidential candidate.
So while it's certainly tangential, Jodie Foster is relevant to the subject of presidential/presidential candidate assassinations.
But it is, you know, what is called a joke.
