I got a 3 day Facebook ban for posting this picture.

I fact-checked it before posting. The pic is real.

I posted it without comment, the reason for the removal and suspension was “bullying”

I’ve seen some articles that say that Facebook clamped down on pro-Rittenhouse posts, but this one assuredly isn’t that.

And apparently, they recognized they were wrong. They reviewed my post and changed their mind

and apparently they have decided they were mistaken about being wrong because now I am suspended 3 days for this same post on the 24th, and I see no place to appeal

I’ve been in virtual worlds almost as long and lolyup, hard agree. These big companies will repeatedly step on the rake of the userbase not doing anything remotely expected.

My first "second life" was in the lp mud Genesis, but I also spent about a month or so in Second Life. Long enough to buy a little plot, build a house, realize it was a not a world I wanted to be in, then sell the plot for a small real-world profit. I've been genuinely confused by the number of people who talk like this 'Metaverse' is some novel, transformative concept.

My Twitter account was well curated, I only looked at the timeline where I was only shown the activity of people who I follow. Now that I've left Twitter, I still wanted to follow some of the artists, journalists and scientists I used to. A decent number of them are on Instagram, and I already still maintain a Facebook account.

The experience is actively antagonistic. It insists on showing me "suggested" content. If I even scroll past something, it will suggest dozens more like it. If I tell Instagram I'm not interested, it tells me it will stop showing content from that user/content like that, and then shows me the same content again and again. I'm not sure the content controls even do anything. I thought I had Facebook pretty well trained, but more shit is leaking onto that as well.

Sadly, this is kind of meeting my expectation, and will probably still continue to use it until a better site comes along.
