Corn Pop then threatened to beat up or cut Biden after his shift was over (armed with a knife), and Biden, instead of calling the police, armed himself with a chain to meet the guy after his shift.
Then he apologized for mocking Corn Pop, but not for forcing him to follow the rules, and Corn Pop accepted this apology, and they avoided any violence.
What a damning story, indeed.
Initially, some people were incredulous of Biden's story, and supporters of a certain presidential candidate decided to just run with the claim that the name "Corn Pop" was a racist embellishment Biden added to his story, or that the story was a complete fabrication with the nickname being the element that shows how unbelievable it was. Except, it turns out, that there was, in fact, a guy in Wilmington who went by the nickname Corn Pop - so much so that he was referred to by that nickname in his newspaper obituary decades later, which was uncovered by reporters. So... so much for that.

Thanks, I figured that Jerome's take on this was about as accurate as anything else, but I wasn't familiar with this particular one.
The GOP does love to project and lie.
Their propaganda system is robust through: billionaire thinktanks at the top all the way to stochastic terrorist.
Fucktard trolls are part of it, spread the manure to the gullible, spreading it among themselves.

Do you remember the time he said he was at the top of his law class, and was given a full scholarship, and was the most honored law student?
Yea, he made all that up too. Though he didn't insert his rasism into this story..
He is the dope to ensure Trump's reelection. Just like McCain was a put up to get Obama elected.
You guys still don't know this is all a TV reality show? lmao

Well, it wasn't McCain that killed that election. It was the Bimbo.
As for making shit up, Biden cannot hold a candle to the Orange Cretin.
I am getting tired of all the old farts running for Pres. They ought to put an age cap on the job.

I never seriously considered that he would win in 2016, so maybe I am overcompensating for my former optimistic idiocy by thinking this, but right now it looks like yeah, he's gonna win again, assuming he's still alive (amphetamine and and booger sugar are tough on the ticker) and that they will animate him like the Soviets did Brezhnev. There is no economic or social policy that will appeal to his voters more than the white-hot racism the Republicans have on offer, and Democrats don't have enough of that. Tariffs have been skullfucking Wisconsin but Trump's still competitive? Guess it's not about that economic anxiety after all.

Re: US Presidency 2020
I was feeling a little better about things but now I'm bummed again. Older voters were turning positive for Biden because of covid, and the upper eastern/upper swing states were looking like less than a lock for Trump. I fear the riots could well work against Biden. In the late 60's unrest tilted the field toward law and order republicans. Otoh if covid flares up bigly that would tend to erase the memory of the riots and work against dump. It still looks to be like yet another electoral college decision to me.

Re: US Presidency 2020
The ongoing investigation into the Bidens is going to have to contend with the fact that the Ukraine has already looked into it and found a donut.
Ukrainian prosecutors just blew up Trump's Hunter Biden conspiracy theories: report | Salon.com
Quote:
"An audit of thousands of old case files by Ukrainian prosecutors found no evidence of wrongdoing on the part of Hunter Biden, the former prosecutor general, who had launched the audit, told Reuters," said the report. "Ruslan Ryaboshapka was in the spotlight last year as the man who would decide whether to launch an investigation into former vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter, in what became a key issue in the impeachment of President Donald Trump."
"The audit was intended to probe whether cases Ryaboshapka had inherited from his predecessors had been handled properly, given the reputation of the prosecution service as being riddled with corruption and influence-peddling," said the report. "The audit was part of a broader reform of the prosecution service but became politically charged given some of the cases related to Burisma's founder."

Correct! I mean I guess I knew there were American Nazis since there still are, but I didn't realize they were so organized and numerous back then.

Re: US Presidency 2020
Serious question:
Is there a trustworthy source of information about any accomplishments of the Trump administration over the past 4 yrs?
Trump himself is always saying they have accomplished more than any other President in history which is obviously bullshit, but whenever I see POC praising him I think there must be something positive he has done that just hasn't made it into my bubble.

Re: US Presidency 2020
Business Insider isn’t an utterly shit publication: Trump's biggest accomplishments and failures heading into 2020 - Business Insider
This article is still laughable in how hard it reached for accomplishments. I suppose the courts are an accomplishment depending who you ask. But there’s mention of a First Step Act which I’ll leave you to investigate that looks like a thing.
Though attribution of all things government to one man for his signature is deeply weird.

It's not an accomplishment.
Firstly, keeping so many seats open for Trump to fill is McConnell's accomplishment.
Secondly, Trump has pretty much outsourced judicial nominations to the Federalist Society, so he's not even doing anything.
Thirdly, nominating people to fill seats is not an accomplishment. It's like saying you're an accomplished wedding planner because you invited the immediate family of the bride and groom. You don't need a professional event planner to do that. It doesn't require special skills. You would have to be a uniquely incompetent wedding planner to fail to do that (assuming no familial estrangement, of course).
It requires no effort - and given the level of unqualified whackjobs being put on the courts, the nomination and vetting process is getting no effort.

I believe it is appropriately named, which also precludes it from being a big accomplishment.
