Discussion of the information keeps the topic front-of-mind, keeps it near the top of the first page in the forum index, and is thus doubly dangerous to those who are negatively affected by greater public awareness.

It wasn't just trolling, flooding and the like. They were active in banning people, and they were paying big bucks as well.

This is just the US agencies. One can only imagine the amount of time, energy and money the Chinese (and others) are spending to shape the minds of youth, and to inflame the faithful, all over the world.
