No, I am not. I am using his exact words.

The requirements weren't part of question, the question was in regard to "being trained" and having a license.
That being said the requirements are only what any individual requires for him or herself.
No, that's not it at all. The requirements are not what any individual requires of himself. The requirements are the standards that exist in that field. How in the world did I get into this? You can't jump into the middle of this book and think you're going to understand it. That's arrogant.

The final examination will be the most thorough and toughest ever
given and may take several days or even weeks.

That's true, but the reason for this is because of the change in the environment which forces his hand. That's why this law is so powerful.
I pulled it from my downloaded copy of the book, it's the version that's missing CH 10.

Isn't it strange, that there will be industry standards and testing, yet each individual will determine who will call themselves doctors? Clearly, Lessans thought he was qualified to treat people without any training as a psychiatrist, what's to stop others from just assuming they know how to treat patients? This is what "alternative medicine" providers do every day.
peacegirl rebutted with this quote below, that was not from the passage under discussion. The passage under discussion of course said exactly what I was saying it did (Each person will judge his own qualifications)

The final examination will be the most thorough and toughest ever
given and may take several days or even weeks.

Also he clearly said there would be no licensing, or rights granting.

Also, yes, alt meds and quacks all think they are highly qualified. I tried to explain this to peacegirl...there are doctors who truly believe they are helping others and giving perfect medical advice when they simply have no way to determine this due to lack of efficacy trials, or are outright putting people at risk as they may not seek other opinions.
She's pulling that quote out of context.
Quote:
The final examination will be the most thorough and toughest ever given and may take several days or even weeks. Just as a teacher will no longer call on individual students as a method of instruction, she will no longer use verbal questions for testing purposes when the answer is already known to her since, once again, this can only be done to find out if students know what she thinks they should. This new method of teaching prevents students from being criticized by the uninvited questions of teachers who will no longer judge the rightness or wrongness of their present knowledge. Remember, what they know or donít know is no oneís business unless the results of a test are being used to determine their qualifications for a particular job or unless they have not yet become citizens and are still too young to assume responsibility for themselves ó but this does not take away from the fact that employers must assume responsibility for everybody they hire. The only thing that matters is what students desire to know for their own purposes, which is related to what they want to become. Therefore, the teacher will mark the exam and return it with the answers clearly visible so the students can judge for themselves whether they are ready to move to the next grade or leave school and enter the job market. They will get immediate feedback to see how well they did by comparing their test marks with the correct answers ó just as they have done throughout the school year. The students will be shown the questions they got right and the ones they got wrong but will receive no grade letter because this would permit students to be satisfied with a certain percentage of wrong answers, and it may give them a false sense of what they actually know.
So there will be school, testing, and training, but no one else determines your qualifications but you.

What she fails to understand is that people could not ask the questions they do without reading the book. That is the give away that people have actually read it but disagree, but to Peacegirl disagreement is a clear indication of a lack of understanding or not actually reading it. In a way its like helping with or doing a job and then not getting credit for the work done, Peacegirl is shooting herself in the foot with her arrogant and condecending attitude.
What's the discovery doc? Do you know? Of course not. Yet you have such animosity. You are the one that is condescending for no reason. You're back on ignore. ughhhhhhhh

THIS ISN'T ABOUT ALT MEDICINE VERSUS CONVENTIONAL MEDICINE. IF YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING THAT COULD PUT SOMEONE AT RISK, REGARDLESS OF WHERE IT COMES FROM, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO CHANCE IT. YOU CAN IF YOU WANT TO, BUT YOU WON'T WANT TO. DO YOU KNOW WHY SPECIOUS? OF COURSE YOU DON'T.

Of course there will be school, and the people who leave school to drive their profession will make sure that what they are basing their decisions on fact, not opinion ---especially in the medical field where their decisions are critical. Up to now, doctors could not be completely honest, because they had to earn a living. This is not a put down. It's just the truth. Now that their standard of living will be guaranteed, they will be in the position to be truthful with themselves as to what they really know, or don't know.

It doesn't matter how stringent the requirements are if anyone who considers himself qualified will be allowed to practise medicine.
It's really frustrating to me to see people who are trying to understand what Lessans is saying, but can't, because they haven't done their homework. I will not get involved in these absurdities because that's exactly what they are.
peacegirl, your life for the last ten years could become the internet definition of absurdity. You will end your life in absurdity.

Well I'm not going to answer anything till you explain how we see supernova millions of years after the event.

Re: A revolution in thought

At this point in the thread this may be a 'moot point', but the timing issue of seeing supernova is telling evidence. In efferent vision If we must wait for the light to arrive and then see the star as it is now we would never see the actual explosion. But with nearby supernove the neutrinos are a warning and astronomers have seen the actual explosion of the star, which proves that we see the light and the supernova as it was millions of years ago.

Angakuk, when he first made this discovery, he used the idea of coming from outer space because he knew people would not believe him. Then later on he changed his writing to a dialogue format to anticipate the questions the reader would have. As time went on, he saw how difficult it was to even get those who had the capacity to grasp this knowledge to even listen, so he made a last ditch attempt before he died to change the title of the book and to only touch upon the major points. His last book was only 89 pages long. It was called: This is An Urgent Message From a Visitor to Your Planet. The storyline was that he came from another planet to show the people here on Earth why his planet was much farther along in their development because his planet was a lot older than ours. It was a very clever idea, but it unfortunately backfired since the majority of people who responded were science fiction buffs who were interested in discussing UFO citings. It was disappointing, but I still love the way he wrote it.

Maybe he should have called it To Serve Man. It's too bad that title was already taken.

How about Visit to a Small Planet. Rats! That one was taken as well.

Before I leave, I am asking those who are still wondering if this book is worth reading, to please come forward and ask questions. I can no longer talk to the people who think they own this thread and have all the answers before they have even read the book in its entirety. They are so off in their conclusions that I am sickened by it. Therefore, if there is no one here to question the false assumptions that are held so dear, I can't do anything about it other than move on (which everyone wants and I am prepared for). You, the reader, have no idea how you are being manipulated. These peons who have no idea what they are even talking about, don't care. They just want to be right at all costs. Why would you depend on them to verify what is true and what is not when they can't even discern this for themselves? I have always said, and I will, that if Lessans had the opportunity to demonstrate what his discovery was all about, you would not be disappointed, because the knowledge he is sharing contains within itself proof of its veracity. There will always be people who will be threatened, and if you listen to them, you will give up on knowledge that will change the world for the better, whether you are here to see it, or not.

Yes, you're right, peacegirl, it does seem rather odd that NASA uses delayed-time seeing calculations to send spacecraft to Mars and other bodies. If Lessans were right, they would miss their targets by a wide margin every time. Instead, they hit them. How do you ever explain that, peacegirl?

Oh, that's right. You don't. :awesome:

Yeah you imaginary readers who are still wondering if the book is worth reading! When did I ever say you were wicked? Why are you making stories up LadyShea? But I will say you are too sure of yourself when it comes to knowing whether Lessans has a discovery or not. As much as you want to believe that you're right, you could be wrong, do you realize that? You are trying desperately to make this thread my problem, so you can keep on attacking Lessans, as if he is the one with the problem. It doesn't matter at this point. Believe whatever you want.

I understand you are done here, do you plan to leave your forwarding information like the website with us so we can send interested people your way?
That was unexpected. Are you actually trying to help me? If you are, I thank you. I don't have a website yet, as you well know, but I just finished going over the final version, and I'm sending it in to the publisher. You can always find the book at trafford.com. Hopefully, I will be able to get people a discount if they buy the book from me, but what difference does a few dollars make if this is a genuine discovery. Not much.

LadyShea has consistently given you good advice about the book's production and marketing.

For those without the .pdf copy, peacegirl publicly posted much of the book at FrostCloud, including Chapter 5, which I find utterly repulsive, where Lessans explains that love=sexual satisfaction and that personality is irrelevant to marriage

You told me the website was almost ready to go. I assumed you had at least bought your domain name and had it hosted...like an "under construction" link that will be filled with content soon.
