Dear Diary - Day 2
I am making myself go for a walk through the park although I have imaginary fatigue and a fake cough.
The Mor-Man feels great, I suspect it's due to his underwear.

New thermometer battery secured. Body temperature normal, outside of the dangerously terrifying 99-100 range. Nice outside.

Had that experience yesterday; now some poor Amazon delivery driver has to die to bring me batteries.

Re: Isolation diaries
It's snowing like a mofo right now. Flossy's vet appointment is in half an hour, but it's been warm and it'll be a while before it starts sticking to the roads.
Maybe I'll make some marmalade and bread after. TLM's girlfriend's Starbucks is closing for a while, so they gave her two or three gallons of milk that would otherwise go bad. So maybe I'll make a new batch of yogurt or something, too. Or hot cocoa. We kind of have an embarrassment of provisions here, to the point that I'm feeling guilty seeing people who can't get basic groceries. Ours is not from panic buying, though. That's mostly normal for us.
And I think everyone has a touch of the hypochondria. But that's a good thing. I'm afraid of non-hypochondriacs right now.

Re: Isolation diaries
It seems there are three categories of people of working age right now:
A: people who are laid off or on reduced hours
B: those who are overworked because of this
C: people who are relatively unaffected apart from having to make arrangements such as telecommuting, or who might have been unemployed or on leave beforehand, so little change
Being in IT I see (and experience) a lot of category B right now, and that group will obviously also include people on health care and deliveries + grocery stores, but what might the ratios actually be? And did I miss a group?

Re: Isolation diaries
Also I'm sorry for all your lots but I walked to the Whole Foods world headquarters a couple days ago (because I can do that) and it was 95% stocked with everything--canned, boxed, produce, dairy, meats, etc. I didn't look for toilet paper because I don't need any but I suspect they have that too.

This Saturday marks the second week IN A ROW that I couldn't get a full compliment of my Oatly oat milk.
I am officially mad at corona beer virus right now.

Day 2 - the cats are bored with me now, and are all asleep on the bed. I'm eating pretzels for lunch again. Rigorist is home too and out on a quest for TP.
There's not a heck of a lot of work stuff to be done so I may do some cleaning. My apartment is a mess.

Do you have any regular oats? Because it's pretty easy to make oat milk. It might not be as good as your preferred brand, but it's something.

If you're trying to work from home with kids or pets around, tell us what they are doing, but call them your co-workers.

That's so brilliantly absurd I laughed.
My co-worker is chirping for attention.

Re: Isolation diaries
Dear Diary - Day 2.5
My apartment is so clean I don't know what I will do from now till June 17th. Also, when I vacuumed I realized I have never vacuumed this place before - The Mor-Man has been doing it since we moved in on Nov 15.
I am drinking wine.
Tomorrow I get a new co-worker, my friend can't take care of her co-worker anymore and I offered, since I'm off to take her or him, I'm not sure. I bought a big ass jug of co-worker litter today. Also, the Mor-Man does not know any of this yet.

With no commute to work this week, I haven't listened to any of my podcasts.

Re: Isolation diaries
That's one reason I am falling further behind also (~10 hours per week), but at least I still have the dog walks.

Same. I only have 4-5 podcasts so I usually run out and have a massive audiobook going on in reserve, but now I am behind on all.

I bought a new mesh wifi router because the downstairs rooms don't get good wifi, and Mrs. Reasons will be working from home starting next week.

I watched a movie today where people kept shaking hands and I was like - noooo we don't do that anymore.
