Memo to self: do not get all angsty about the SqlAlchemy package doing weird things bypassing regular constructors and making the use of custom column attributes impossible when in fact you have been making the test edits to a different table from the one you're actually testing.

More babies.

I went to see some friends who have a new baby. And who obviously I haven't see for ages :virus:

They've had a rough time recently. Both their fathers died not long ago - and their dog had to be put down, only two years old, just before the baby was born.

But now they have a brand new baby, and a brand new puppy ... so sleep is a distant memory, and their life consists of milk or puppy food in at one end and dealing poo and pee at the other. The puppy has been quite manic, apparently. Except that the calming influence of JoeP meant he was quite gently playful today and slept a lot. And baby (tiny!) was very good with me, also sleeping and taking two bottles.

Mum also slept a bit while I was there and that's OK

Well, crap I broke my arm. So now I can't work, do chores or have adventures this summer. Instead I get surgery and poverty

The Mor-man and I are going on a road trip to Ottawa! Our Nation's Capital :canada:

We are doing the touristy thing - including a bi-plane flight around the city and a ghost walk tour.

I don't know if you recall - but our trip to the South Pacific was shat on by covid and this is the first vacay we have had since.

None of the museums are open :kickscan:

and no indoor dining as well, even the pools at the hotel are closed.

Covid continues to piss me the hell off.

The Mrs decided that we needed to go up to the mountains and play in the Casinos.
Aside from violating my plans for social distancing, it's a long drive for an activity that most often results in a reduction of the balance on our bank account. She can very happily feed the stupid machines until she cannot see straight.

I cannot stand all the noises in the place, and spend the day wandering up the creek to explore some of the old mining camps in the area.
Surprise, several of the camps are now populated by vagrant homeless folks who have wandered up from the City.

They are friendly enough, but hygiene does not seem to be on their agenda. They did, however have some very nice herbs.

I also learned that finding one's way back down a rocky creek bed after smoking for half a day gets really interesting, ...,and dangerous.

Back at the casino, I got interested in watching the players at on of the Texas Hold-em tables, and got talked into playing a bit.

For the first time in several years we went back down the hill with more bread than we went up with.

For the first time in a very long time.

The departure lounge at Heathrow was about 10% full, the plane probably not more than 20%.

Knee room on the plane was if anything even less, however. :glarecat:
