Re: CWP #2 - The Historical Revision Poll
I would go back in time so I could ask Crumb where the poll is before he posted it.

Re: CWP #2 - The Historical Revision Poll
I would go back in time dressed in super-futuristic-looking clothes, and convince Crumb that the survival of the world depends on him making the poll multiple choice.

Thankfully we don't need a time machine to make that happen. Where do you want it?
I went with Hitler, btw.

Re: CWP #2 - The Historical Revision Poll
Yes, but the question is how would you prevent Hitler's rise? Personally, I think the best method would be to murder Kaiser Wilhelm before he could cause too much trouble. His successors, whose full names I forget but who went by Bobby and Toddy, were both pretty decent and peaceful men, so World War I probably would not have happened with either of them in charge.

Re: CWP #2 - The Historical Revision Poll
I considered voting for saving Lincoln, on the theory that Reconstruction would've been more successful under him, resulting in a more favorable trajectory for American history generally, but I concluded that it's less certain that keeping Lincoln alive would be as much of a positive as stopping Hitler.
Unfortunately for JFK, I think LBJ was probably a better outcome than a second term of JFK would've been.
Man, if LBJ hadn't fucked up in Vietnam so much, I imagine he'd be on our currency by now.

Re: CWP #2 - The Historical Revision Poll
I would have laughed at Sigmund Freud while having sex with him. Or maybe shown Jesus some personal ethics and how to think rationally. So much suffering their followers have caused. So much poppycock.
I would have missed the church art, though.
