Not bad. One thing I couldn't understand is if a lone soldier with an improvised grenade and a couple of LAW rockets could so easily penetrate the defensive line, why the hell the war had gone on for so long?

I'm really enjoying this show and I know nothing about the Old Testament story on which it is based.
I noticed the language seems to have been elevated in this episode, almost to Deadwoodian stature. I wonder if perhaps the pilot was toned down a touch in an effort to be more accessible.
Not sure how I feel about David. Clearly he's a pivotal character, but he's so much less interesting than the King or even the Queen.
Missed having the Reverend in this episode, though. Love that actor.
Another good episode, though the time compression is weird. As far as I can tell, the national network, UNN, was bought and sold twice in one day. That just seems like an ungodly fast pace. Though I guess Cross and "not-Anna-Nicole-Smith" are just unbelievably wealthy.
David still bugs, as does the Princess. They just can't hold a candle to the powerhouse acting by the other main characters.
I have been watching too. Enjoyable stuff, though my SO is becoming a fan faster than I am. As of yet I'm still just along for the ride.
This week's episode was okay, I'd rather talk about last week's and Silas's bargin with God. I found that riveting.
This week was a little flat. But I expect that they are building up to something better. The stand out for me are the guards, who because I don't know their names, I will refer to as Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. I love Thomasina's character and I don't blame Ronsencrantz for falling for her. Good choice IMHO and the more she opens her mouth the more I want to know about her character.
Oh, and this is all secondary to the twist at the end about who warned Richie Rich. I think we all saw that coming.
I am looking forward to next week when Richie Rich's son will be returning from exile, and will be played by...? Why Richie Rich! (By which I mean Macaulay Culkin.)
Yeah, I just have to add "Kings" to other mid-season replacements I like but will probably not see on the new Fall schedule.
This includes "Better Off Ted" on ABC, a very funny, quirky and smart sitcom set in the offices of a mega-corporation and "The Unusuals" also on ABC, another funny, quirky and smart drama set in a police precinct in NYC.
