Rolling Stone? It sometimes does serious original reporting. If you were to pick any random news item from it, I wouldn't start with the assumption that it had an agenda, but I wouldn't automatically assume it was trustworthy. It would very much depend on the author, too. I don't think I'd trust anything by Matt Tiabbi from the last few years - he went full COVID-conspiracy crazy.

Well, This Peep[me] does not often read, nor quote from Rolling Stone, but we have seen articles which proved to be be quite worth reading. I dare say that Rolling Stone can claim a far better reputation of newsworthyness that some of those rags that you have quoted from.

Thanks LarsMac. I honestly didn’t know the Daily Mail was disreputable. But NYP I did know was turning pretty rag worthy which is disappointing because it wasn’t always that way. So when I read stories I go to several different site so see if there is any resemblance. But you know I have seen Salon used here as a source and I think that site is ridiculous.

Pretty funny. Incidentally, and not a topic for this thread, but do you use Duck Duck Go regularly? I know a lot of people do because they don’t trust Google but I tried DDG and the info I searched for was lacking. Same with Bing. So I use Google especially at work because I get more accurate information for example correct phone numbers and addresses for physicians offices. But our work site defaults to Bing which I hate.

Weirdly, today - from a different device - Google ignores the quotes and returns lots of incorrect results, while DDG can't find any results at all. It has amnesia! Not only does it forget what you've searched for (by design) it forgets things it knew.
