Yes. Liberal media my honky ass.
This poll, 52% of Americans "disagree with Obama's handling of health care reform." I hear it over and over and over and over again. What the fuck does that even mean?
For all I know, half of them are pissed because he isn't making it enough like France.

And the other half is pissed because he's making it EXACTLY like France (although there's nothing even remotely single-payerish about the current proposal). Such is the state of public discourse in this country, thanks to sociopathic right wing Rebitchlifuck liars.

They are not nearly as snotty as portrayed. I think that's a Faux Nudes rumor.
Israelis are far, far snottier.

Aww...jeez, zach.
If that were the case, I would have left long ago.
I continue to delude myself with the notion that sufficient number of us will come to our senses to set some things right. Just a few things. Y'know? Feel-good things. Being a boomer idealist an' all.
I've had my ideals smashed and trashed and come to the view that 'helping humanity' is a misguided undertaking.
Thirty years on, I'm pretty disillusioned...but still deluded. It's rage at the edge of sanity. I'm one of the screamers.
Welcome.

Fair enough, I was mainly speaking for myself there since I know I don't speak for everyone. I still believe we're mostly a moral nation with a few abnormalities that can be wrinkled out. I'm the same way though (partly). I keep hoping that people will come to their senses but haven't given up just yet. That's what I get for believing in civil discourse to create a better understanding in the voting citizens which most people apparently don't want. Albeit I'm the child of boomers and not a boomer myself so maybe I just haven't seen enough yet.

Re: Health Care Reform Dead
I'm not sure exactly where to put this as it's not all about health care reform. Anyway, here is Karl Rove's spin (note that he accepted Nancy Pelosi's gift of un-American) (yeah, I know...I need to get off that particular soap box):

I always feel compelled to lie in these sorts of polls. No, I don't approve of Obama's handling of health care reform in the least. He started bargaining with an already watered down compromise plan instead of proposing a strong plan and arriving at the compromise through debate, and he's doing a shitty job selling even that. Everyone automatically reads disagreement with Obama as "OMG SOCIALISM BAD!" though.

The Death Panel nutjobs won on part of the battle.

WASHINGTON - A Senate panel has decided to scrap the part of its health-care bill that has given rise to fears of government "death panels" in recent days, with one lawmaker suggesting that the proposal was just confusing.

Re: Health Care Reform Dead
Cool. Can we scrap abortion, birth control, AIDS care, HPV vaccines, and having any of it paid by taxes? Then maybe they'll approve of it.
(I still doubt it, though.)

You're not too far off the mark, ES. Check this out:
