This whole thread is an experiment in itself which could be used by psychologists because it shows just how difficult it is to get beyond the bias of the group whether it's in the academic world or on a typical online forum. This has farreaching implications.
Suddenly you admit that the thread is useful for psychiatric evaluation. Allrightythen. Let's have at it.

Delusions of grandeur. That's item number one on the list.
Delusions of persecution. That's number two.
Unrealistic belief in ability, knowledge, or ideas. That's number three.
Detailed and bizarre thoughts and ideas. Number four.
Distorted perception of reality. Number five.

I'm so glad you finally realized that a two year long thread is useful for psychoanalysis.
I feel oddly vindicated by this...not in a hostile way, just as someone who is used to defending the use of depth-psychological theory (which includes, but is not limited to psychoanalysis) in literature and culture against people who have only the vaguest idea of either typically culled from bad Seinfeld episodes and even worse 80s movies.

Is it wrong that my musings stole the first post on page 1000?

I suppose I should offer something more useful for such a momentous occasion.

Oh my God...will it be ME! I'm invited to a party, then end up being the one to uncork the champagne?!

Whoops. Not me. I'm so drunk with excitement that I got lost on the thread numbers.

Oh well....at least I'm here. Now what? I was told that all sorts of debauchery and mayhem was going to take place.

There were some comments about the accuracy of these big guns, and I remember reading an account of the USS Pennsylvania during WWII on one of the island campains. The Pa. was steaming off shore providing artillery support, and the troops on shore called for a hit on a pillbox. After firing several rounds of High explosive ammo. the troops were still calling for hits on the same target, the gunner switched to armor piercing ammo. and fired a round. The Pa was steaming several miles off shore as sitting still would not be safe. The round punched a 3 foot hole in the top of the pillbox and exploded inside, the gunner decided to fire another round just to be sure and that shell passed through the 3 foot hole and exploded inside again. Thats good accuracy to hit the same spot from several miles away.
