ATTENTION NERDS: Palgrave Macmillan - Palgrave Pivot celebrates 100 Pivot titles
Apparently, this is kind of a big deal and you have just under 3 days now to download as many of these nerd things as you can for free.
I cannot personally attest to their usefulness, because I looked at them and they seemed kind of educational or something so I was all UGH. I did see some nerds being pretty happy about it, though, so this is a courtesy alert.

Holster made out of comic book backing board and black duct tape. For a costume it works okay, though the gun sticks on the draw a bit. Gonna work on the second one tomorrow night.

I need some help working through a traumatic experience I had yesterday.
So Matlock and I are going to Costco, driving past a sort of shopping plaza or whatever you'd call that, with a comedy club and a brewpub and a Dave and Buster's and a theater multiplex and whatever. And I spot this bright red vehicle parked behind one of the buildings, like near the service entrance in what must be a tow-away zone, and in big white letters on the side, it says something like, "Make Respectability* a Family Matter."
I guess it must have been some kind of van or truck or whatever, but dang, it looked like a goddamned ambulance.
I have internet-searched this phrase and every permutation I can think of, in case I misread, and I cannot find anything, so I'm left here back at my initial assumption that this was some sort of emergency vehicle you call when you see someone behaving immodestly so you can have them transported to whatever facility treats that sort of thing.
So find out what this Respectability Ambulance I saw was, please, and also get me its phone number so I can call them the next time I witness some kind of slutmergency.
* I like the focus on respectability as opposed to, oh, say, being respectful.

Found it! I bet it is because you are in Coors country. I want to say I have seen that slogan around here near the Miller plant. Either that or NyQil makes me a genius.
It reminds me of a campaign we had around here that was all YAY TEACHERS and had a slogan of "Teachers are the REAL Heroes" on various technicolor vans and trucks all over. But they didn't have the money to fill them with gas and drive them around and I guess there were no takers who wanted to put that slogan on a delivery van or something. So they just painted whatever cheap junkers they could find and parked them in areas where they would be really visible.
Then they must have had trouble with people jacking with them or stealing them or something so they put dummies in the driver seats as a clever ruse. Really bad looking dummies with crazy Halloween masks on them. The nearest one to us was a psycho clown on an embankment that lead to the highway. Every time we would would pass it, I would have to stare really hard and blankly-like at Contra until he noticed and got really uncomfortable or tell me to stop. Then I would say in a really creepy serial killer voice, " yoooooou're a reeeeeeal HERO ...." and then do this crazy clown giggle.
In terms of that I think it was a fairly effective campaign.
