If that's some sort of roughage leaf, I think that's covered.
I'd call that comic pretty good satire, does a good job skewering many different sides of the argument.

I think she's mugging the camera, personally.* Look at her friend's reaction.
*Which is awesome

Re: Miscellany
In the comments of a thread I came across:
Quote:
I love books. I use to -- in my younger days -- read about (no kidding) 15 books A DAY.
Quote:
You used to read 15 books a day??
Quote:
Yes 15! As a child I actually read a book every two hours!!
|
|
|
I thought about responding to this, but then reconsidered. Why ruin the comedy by pointing out the flaw?

Re: Miscellany
Truth be told, a 30-hour day would enable us to come somewhat closer to the ridiculous level of production our respective employers expect from us in the usual 24-hour day, as well as allowing some idiot to read 15 books a day.

Hey, s/he* never said they were math books.
* Okay, most likely he.

Re: Miscellany
I couldn't find a dedicated flint leaded water thread so here will do.
Woman in Leading Lawsuit Over Flint, Mich., Water Crisis Found Shot to Death in Home - The Root
Because that's totally not suspicious at all! Especially with prosecutors bringing charges against people and basically the whole political body being responsible for poisoning children. Not suspicious at all!

Re: Miscellany
In Flint? No, it's really not suspicious. We've been top three most dangerous city in the country for pretty much the last decade. And the first class action suit got thrown out this week, so that doesn't seem to be the best avenue for redress.
ETA: They've already arrested someone. It doesn't say in the article, but I heard he is the ex of one the women, and the father of her child. It's that age-old story.

Re: Miscellany
Some of you people live close enough to some of these shows that you could go.
Pere Ubu Announces North American Tour Dates
I am making a list of those people, and if those people don't go, I am going to write on their entries, "could have gone to a Pere Ubu show but chose not to."
