Pizza! 'Cuz I don't feel like cooking, and I sure as hell don't want to go outside if I can help it.

Driver gets a really big tip tonight. :freezing:

I so wish a pizza place delivered here :sadcheer:

Instead I had some crappy canned soup and some crackers. And a few chocolate chips leftover from the cookie dough I have chilling in the fridge for tommorrow.

I had that same sampler appetizer as last week with the pate, kielbasa, cheese/roasted peppers, nuts, cheese and prosciutto.

Dinner is liver, bacon & onions (for Widget)

The kid who is living here (the one that is not The Little Muffin) delivers pizzas, and he is having a hell of a time right now. Not only is it cold, but the city came through and polished all the streets to a nice gloss finish for some reason. He looked actually a little shellshocked or something when he came home last night. POOR BEBE.

We're having cabbage and meatball soup again. We just had that, but everyone likes it, and I keep buying more cabbages just because they're so stupidly cheap.

Green beans, baked sweet potatoes, cornbread (of sorts. When you are halving a recipe because you don't have enough cornmeal, the part where you half the leavening agents is not where you want to zone off. I hope I don't have to scrub the oven tomorrow.)

OK, but don't be mad if I screw this up.

Sweat in a big pot with a little oil:
About three large garlic cloves, smashed & chopped
Bay leaf
Provencal herb mix or thyme, rosemary, basil, and lavendar
Salt & black pepper

You can put some diced carrots in now too if you have them. I didn't today.

Then add chicken stock (I usually use one of those big yogurt containers full--like 32 oz.), and a large (28 oz.) can of pureed tomatoes. Then add about a tomato can or two of water. Turn the heat up to bring it to a simmer.

In a separate bowl, mix about a pound of ground turkey with a few handsful of rice plus the Provencal herbs, S&P, and some garlic powder. Then make a bunch of tiny little meatballs and just throw them in the base. Simmer for about an hour or so, until the meatballs are thoroughly cooked and the flavors are melded.

Reseason and add water as necessary, then add about half a cabbage, chopped, and cook about maybe another 20 minutes until it's done.

Last time I made chicken soup I destroyed it by putting zucchini in it.

I love zucchini but it has this fantastic ability to put itself forward. It's like the Ethyl Merman of the world of soup. Even a little bit of it will upstage the fuck out of everything else.

Brussels sprouts are really good in chicken soup. Just quarter them and let them cook to not quite mushy.

We're going to have London broil with salad and baked potatoes tonight.

Turkey pot pie with biscuit topping. This will use up the bag of frozen Thanksgiving turkey in broth that is taking up some space in the freezer.

We chunked some of our frozen leftover quinoa into our chicken cabbage soup last week. Thanks for the idea about brussel sprouts instead of cabbage.

A few chocolate cookies. I was too tired after failing to get my snow plow to work to fix anything. If I get the energy later I might heat up soup.

It was bar food night here at the House of Widget. Appetizer was nachos baked in the oven with lots of cheese, onions, salsa etc...

Dinner was wings and fries.

This meal totally goes against everything in Canada's Food Guide for healthy eating. :1thumbup:
