id like to say that its fucking cold, but I need more violent/dirty word than fucking. because fucking cold just isn't sufficient. environment Canada issued a severe windchill warning for my aria, any exposed skin can freeze within 5-10 minutes.

the thermometer in my truck was reading -34 this morning, but the windchill is in the mid -40s...... ie (close to -50 F)

made working outside a bitch today, I think I nipped my cheeks a bit

Here in SF it's been sunny the last few days with a crisp cold in the shadows that made me feel like I should be putting on Ski boots. Now it's raining and has warmed up a bit (it apparently snowed here in the 70s, so there's hope yet!).

I haven't felt my toes in days...

the trek out to the barn and coop, hauling water and tending to the needs of the lads and ladies, is across a path carved into snow too cold to hold together, so it is like walking on sugar... I will try to pack it with snow shoes when the temp manages to rise above 10... sometime next week... maybe

This will be the coldest Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State football game in this rivalry's 99 year history.

It is 8ºF right now and the city is going ahead with it's annual Xmas parade here in downtown Tulsa.

Tulsa's police and fire departments are a lot more prepared for bad weather than they were in that bad storm in Feb. 2011.

Day two of being snow bound. Well, ice bound. No cheerful neighborhood snow men are being made out of this stuff. The roads are only fit for emergency travel. Contra can't even walk outside for fear of slipping and hurting his healing back.

North texas has almost a quarter million without power. I am grateful that we had the linemen in our neighborhood earlier this week trimming the trees. So far, so good. But we have lost power before during storms like this. Thank god we have a gas heater.

I am going to make us some fruit compote in the little crock pot to cheer us up. I wish I had ice cream to go with. I don't think I could make anything fit to eat out of this sleet. Anyhow, we ran out of cream.
