Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I don't know if I owe youse guys an apology or not, but I'm going to offer one anyways. Dear , you don't know how I've made these guys suffer. It's p terrible. I think if it was just me typing at them it might be forgivable, but because the Neverwinter Online has voice chat it's exacerbated and exaggerated some. I've thrown some pretty awful puns at them. They laugh politely but I can hear it in their voices. It's not that funny. My friend throws even worse puns at me all the time and I, in turn, put them upon you. I'm sorry for your lots, youse guys. But that's my life you hear.
Also, I wanted to mention special keybinds and keybind files. In the City of Heroes I had a relatively specialized base keybind file that I used for all my peoples. Because that was originally made by Cryptic I think a lot of the syntax and names for keys are the same, but I can't check nor can I locate a reliable resource for such a thing - especially not a comprehensive list like I want.
What I could do in CoH was type /bindsavefile name.txt and it would spit out a regular old text file that listed all of the keys that had something bound to them, which I could edit myself outside the game and everything. I tried that with NWO (and other current gen Cryptic titles) but it only gives me a text file with self-bound keys and commands and not everything.
But besides that point, if you make a special keybind, you can save that to a file with the above command and you can then load that on any other character you make by using /bindloadfile name.txt. The file, by the way, is in the /Neverwinter/Live directory. You can specify it to save or load from anywhere on your computer, but you'd have to use the whole file pathway. If you just have one custom bind I guess it's not too much trouble to retype the one thing for any character your make in the future but if you have a few custom things that's where a file comes in handy. For instance, I use mine to chat on some extry globals I have.
Code:
Numpad1 "startchatwith /channelsend "CoX" "
Numpad2 "startchatwith /channelsend "CapeRadio" "
Numpad3 "startchatwith /channelsend "TankHQ" "
Numpad4 "startchatwith /channelsend "Freethoughters" "
I'm sad to say that I didn't get any good shots of when curses beshrinked herself with an potion of unknown content.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
My rogue had her face shoved in at Ebon Downs; at least in the beginning. I think I had to relearn how to do things or something. I had a heck of a time getting a big sword user off the ground. Now that I'm past early levels and have some powers available, it's going alright. After seeing some of the things that happen later, and how my tank barely gets by, I'm afeared.

I had a desire to replay Half Life 2 this week. Such an engaging game. It's a bit aged, but still plays well.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I made a NWO account last night, since I couldn't sleep and y'all were having such fun with it. I am up to level 11 with my Half Elf Rouge character.
I am, however the noobiest of noobs and I have no idea what I am doing. I haven't ever played an MMO before. It has been years since my last console RPG, FFXII. (Really wiki? That was 2007? )
I mean, I have the controls and the game play down. Well kinda, I am slow because it is strange to game on a keyboard for me. I also am using the track pad on my laptop because I don't have an external mouse that is worth a damn. But holy crap is there still a lot to set up and figure out.
So I doubt I would be much fun to play with, except as comic relief.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
NWO provides good, if basic, information on how to do things in the game. It's pretty much easy mode as far as MMOs go. It does do a lot of things differently than previous games but you won't notice that kind of thing.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I suppose I should put this in the Whatcha Watching? thread, but I have been watching people do walk-throughs of The Last Of Us, and it is very impressive in structure, story, and beautifully rendered graphics. The voice acting and cut scenes connect flawlessly, and the sound track is just right. It is depressing, because most uninfected humans you meet are trying to kill you, and an amazing number of Cordyceps infected humans are also trying to kill anyone not infected, and the body count gets very high. But pacing and emotional content is well done especially, the female characters have full agency, even the supporting characters are amazing and memorable, the characters are complex and fully-fleshed out. I am addicted to watching playthrough on You Tube because the story is so compelling.
It is seriously making me interested in buying a used PS3 just to play this game.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
Weird. I was just catching up on Penny Arcade from when I was on vacation, and thinking that I probably need to see what used copies of The Last of Us are going for.
As far as what I'm actually playing, I'm almost ashamed. Real life has been so busy that my gaming has consisted entirely of iOS games ([X] With Friends, Clash of Clans (My brother plays and I joined to play with him! Don't you judge me!)) in spare moments.
