Dance Videos
We have music and non-music video threads but I couldn't find a dance video thread.
Obviously, there will be some cross-over with the music videos but this is primarily about the dancing.
I'll start off with a Nicholas Brothers dance courtesy of YouTube. I love watching people who can dance and these guys are brilliant. Enjoy.

Re: Dance Videos
Damn you Skeezifer!
I found this pretty quickly but spent the better part of the last hour listening to Julie Andrews as Eliza Doolittle. OH BOO! One of my favorite skits from Singin' In the Rain:

Re: Dance Videos
Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire. Fascinating because these are two accomplished dancers with strikingly different bodies, one an ectomorph, the other a mesomorph.

Re: Dance Videos
There's a reality tv dance show that I've never watched, but in the last few weeks they have added an extra dance by comedians for Comic Relief. It may be because of my love for Rocky Horror but this is the winning dance and I love it. Robert Webb is my new crush! Enjoy!

Re: Dance Videos
Since it came up in the MJ thread and Lees was all whiney about this thread not being loved, here's a classic video of Gregory Hines doing a tribute to Sammy Davis and getting pwned.

The Nicholoas Brothers rule.
Here's Barishnikov vs. Nureyev:

Re: Dance Videos
I watched the first two seasons but I don't have cable anymore. I don't miss it. I liked Lacey a lot, though.

Re: Dance Videos
WELL YOU SHOULD MISS IT 'CAUSE IT'S THE SHIT.
Here's one of my favorite routines so far this year. That behind the neck lift just slays me. Also, I'm totally biased in favor of the ballerina because I did ballet for 6 years and she's the first classical ballerina they've had on the show.
And to mix it up a little, the amazing Russian dance routine from last season:
These guys had very little dance schooling, btw. Both of them were street dancers before they came on the show.

Re: Dance Videos
Do you remember the audition from last season where the two hip-hop dancers were asked to show they could do more styles so they came back with a swing routine that rocked? So good!

Yes! Last year was the year of the hip hop dancers blasting through genre barriers.

Yep. I love the different styles, and the creative choreography.
I totally dig the Bollywood style, and they did it before Slumdog Millionaire even, so they're kinda cutting edge I think.

I like it.
I enjoy that they have different genres, and that unlike some of the other dance shows, they're not total amateurs, so you get to see some truly great routines at times.
Also, there are cute boys.

Re: Dance Videos
The second dancer here is David Elsewhere, the guy in the Singin In the Rain Remix. It's kind of fuzzy, but he's still awesome:

If you ever get a chance to see a live performance of Pilobolus, do so. They are absolutely amazing.

Re: Dance Videos
I came across this video in random wanderings and it reminded me that I really need to bump this thread. From the completely insane 1941 movie Hellzapoppin', check out these Lindy Hoppers tearing it the fuck up.
