JoeP's ever-multiplying smilie requests
I do hereby solemnly pledge to post all my smilie requests in this thread, and moreover, not to use the Impact font for the purpose.
First, I'd like to acknowledge the mighty keeper of the greatest smilie hoard ever seen outside mythology or fantasy. Some of the requests I've already had satisfied (feeding the addiction):
duck ,
tiger (that's not in my top 500 favourites, unfortunately; a bit washed out)
Hannibal Lecter
tennis
Gollum
eagle
I can't even find all the requests I made

Re: JoeP's ever-multiplying smilie requests
And here are the outstanding requests that I could gather. They're not demands, more a kind of "ooh! shiny thing!" lure to the smilie dragon (pbuh).
leopard and/or a pointy-eared lynx, caracal or bobcat
more tennis ones ... a regular original smilie face that spins to be a tennis ball ... this is such a natural there's got to be one out there (but I couldn't find one)
buddha, zen
multiple simultaneous glomping (if you don't get one of these Farren will just work his evil another way)

Re: JoeP's ever-multiplying smilie requests
And finally for now (there will be more; yea, even unto the tenth generation), some general concepts that I don't think are well represented enough:
fear, fright, afraid
shock, horror
work, slave (ok, there's )
read, write, book
beg, please, pleading

Re: JoeP's ever-multiplying smilie requests
I found yesterday but forgot to tell you. I know it's not the spinning smilie you asked for (I think that would be killer too), but it's a start. Maybe I should look into learning to make my own.
Hmmm...

is excellent. Awaiting others eagerly
Don't think I'm being a gentleman and waiting for you to have a chance with the ones above before I post any more. I just haven't come up with any new missing ones yet.

Re: JoeP's ever-multiplying smilie requests
I'm not Joe--whaddya know--but I'd like to request a better one of these:
That one's okay but it's a bit of a paleface (no offense to any Whities in the audience) and doesn't make its intentions clear.
Oh, and if it helps: Y'all rule!

Re: JoeP's ever-multiplying smilie requests
I hear ya, Sharon. I can't say I was ever fully satisfied with him, but I liked the other shruggies even less.
And yes, worshipful praise is nothing if not helpful. For one thing, it gives me the chance to use this . When I've hook all y'all up with every similie you could possibly desire, I'll finally get to use this:

Hmm, I've got this one, though you've probably seen it.

Yes, I have seen that one and... [confession:] It was actually the one I had hoped was here. Thanks for digging it up!

See, I don't like him. Those freaky little stick arms displease me. Oh, I'll upload it, of course, but we are not satisfied.

Re: JoeP's ever-multiplying smilie requests
Well, I certainly don't prefer that one due to its inherent beauty. But out of all the shruggies I have seen, that one most accurately portrays what it's doing than any others

Re: JoeP's ever-multiplying smilie requests
A google search turned up this smilie. It is throughly disarmed. I tried making one of my own, but the whole transparency thing disheartened me (for the umpteenth time)

Okay, I added one more of these , but I consider it just barely adequate. Honestly, I think the ones we've already got are pretty good on that score. You really think these aren't enough?
Then there's the various hiding behind things ones. I dunno, Joe. I tend to think that category is plenty padded.

Still working on these.
Sharon, I've uploaded Ymir's lovely . I hope you dig it.
In other random news of surf, I've changed the basic colon paren to a lighter version cause the dark blue was too dark. I've also added these:
(for luna) (for pesci and Chip), and finally , cause it's the only relatively explicit smilie I've found that genuinely amuses me.
Must sleep now. Night.

Is that his name? I just remembered him from a post of pesci's 40 lifetimes ago.

I like that one, too. It's definitely clearer in its purpose than the original.

Okay, now that's one I can get behind (so to speak)!

Hey, look! My posts are invisibubble again!
However, responding to Ymir's Blood's post on this is most appropriate. Chester is definitely a Ymir's Blood find, not mine, brought to my consciousness these 40x40 moons and board communities ago. I am delighted to see him in the quick pick list!

I'm sorry, pesci. I did see your post, but thought I should reply here cause it's where I brought him up. Besides, if your posts were invisible I would never have known about Chester in the first place (sorry Ymir).

Re: JoeP's ever-multiplying smilie requests
Yeah, well, it's funny how, even after those 40x40 lifetimes, memories of certain feelings can come rushing back, unbidden and unexpected. I wonder if smilies are the Internet equivalent to smells when it comes to memory triggers. I seem to have been taken away and deposited back into my past!
And, oh yeah, I didn't even see your post last night probably because I was trusting in those sunnabitch vB unread post markers--apparently I was lied to when I went through the forum. I would have posted my Chester welcome post here. Those vB markers, they break my heart, I tell ya!

I hear you, my sister. I definitely had a Proust madeleines thing going on when I stumbled on Chester. It was like I was right back there... Where's the lump in throat smilie?

God they're so evil. Whether it's hiding a new post or making an old one look fresh again, they are vile deceivers. Damn you, vB unread markers! Damn you all to hell!
