I don't disagree. I know the "thanks" button is used as a bludgeon at least some of the time because you've admitted doing it yourself. I don't think you're alone, either, but since I'm not aware of anyone else admitting it I don't really have any way to be sure.

In any case I don't see an important difference between using ones own words to post "thanks" and clicking the "thanks" button. Both communicate the same message, which is that member so-and-so enjoyed, endorses or appreciates the comment. If the "thanks" generated by clicking the button were anonymous you'd have a reasonable point, but in fact the only significant difference between using the button and making a post is that less screen real estate is used by the former.

i know you don't see a difference, but there is for me. as i said- i never expected anything i suggested to matter anyhow...but you did ask...

i should write a post about the ignore feature being introduced at my own site...it was quickly removed. i think that would make a great post...maybe later when i get home...

Being able to re-order images and categories in the gallery would be nice.

JoeP gave me a brilliant idea in t'other thread: How about a custom word filter? 'Cause some folks have different ideas about what language is offensive. E.g., liv could filter all instances of the word "cilantro" and replace them with "pepperoncini," or something. I don't give a flying fuck about profanity, but I would love to filter out some other shit, such as replacing "walnut" with "cashew." Come to think of it, all of the examples I can think of involve food recipes. But that doesn't make my point any less valid. Bastards.

OK, I've reviewed some (not so) recent threads and realised there's an additional ignore feature that would be useful: ignore 'thanks' by people you are ignoring.

I'd really like to be able to enter more than one ID in the "show only 's posts" viewing option, and thus extract a dialogue from a medley as easily as a monologue.

Remove the ignore option and replace it with a program that causes an iron fist to leap from the offending user's monitor and punch him in the fucking mouth. Usable only by me.

OK, this is a reprise of another request ... Sometimes, I would like to ignore a whole thread. The way it's set up now, as far as I know, the only way to do this is to actually OPEN UP the offending thread, and say "Ignore this thread." I would really really appreciate it if I could ignore an offensive thread WITHOUT having to open it up on purpose.

You can ignore avatars, signatures and users, too. It might be nice to ignore the custom titles as well.
