I used to think that way, until I got a physician who, as far as I was concerned, had two problems. First, he tended to perceive alternative healthcare providers uniformly as "quacks"...to the detriment of my getting timely chiropractic treatment. Second, I found out that his opinions regarding 'end of life' treatment were considerably at odds from mine. His basis? His Catholicism. In this particular instance, I found it adviseable to seek another primary care physician, as I did not want some Catholic "quack" ignoring the stipulations of my living will because of his personal philosophical foibles.
The religion of your physician can potenitally have far reaching affects upon your individual care in the event of a catastrophic health incident.
