™ won't work if you're not a member of the HTML group.
You can probably use the character code though - hold down the left Alt key and type 0153 on the number keypad, then let the Alt key go.
(If you're on a laptop keyboard you won't have a dedicated number keypad, but most laptops let you use the keys MJKLUIO789 as a number keypad [don't press the zero key on the top row - use Alt-M for zero]. On some laptops you have a special function key to switch the 'pad' between numbers and the usual letters and on others, like this Dell, you just have to hold down the Fn key - so you hold the Fn key and the Alt key down and then type 0153 on those)
