Re: Cake Wrecks
Okay, tell me if I'm wrong here... I can take it.
I was reading a thread tonight on another forum, the poster gave this photo to bakery to recreate this R2D2 cake for a birthday party.
What she wanted
This is what they made for her based on that photo and she is raving about how great it was. I'm thinking it looks like a piece of shit and she paid a couple of hundred for it too.
Am I in the twilight zone? No way would I have paid for that cake and I would have demanded my deposit back.

It looks like it was decorated in melted crayon blobs. That's not worth 10 bucks imo.

Re: Cake Wrecks
Thank you. I thought I was being a judgmental bitch because the other posters were all saying how fabulous it looked.
I thought it would be an okay effort for a mom baking for her kid's birthday party, but not something you'd get from a professional bakery and pay for.

Re: Cake Wrecks
They were just trying to make her feel good about spending a lot of money on a piece of shit.

Re: Cake Wrecks
I'd pay $10 for that. I mean, if I wanted an R2D2 cake and I didn't wanna spend a lot of money, that is. Which I don't.
Certainly not $100 tho.

At least you stand a better chance of getting a big piece, or several.

Re: Cake Wrecks
You know, that fucked up " May the fourth be with you" cake still has a better R2D2 than the one Legs posted above.

Re: Cake Wrecks
Most likely the lucky kid(?) has his birthday on May 4th.
ETA: I was surfing on the Cake Wrecks site (amazing steampunk cakes, BTW), and got to a Nielsen survey, yay! But it didn't want me, to non-American or un-American or something.

Re: Cake Wrecks
Thanks for bumping this thread, ES. I've now killed two hours looking at all the stuff I missed in my yearlong, Cakewreck-free existence.
Oh and Life size couch cake!
