You don't feel like you have any responsibility in enabling behavior that you yourself have defined as mentally-ill, naturalist.atheist?

First I'm not 'Naturalist Atheistic' and while I do not specifacelly recall calling Peacegirl mentally ill, I may have, but not as consistantly as others on the forum. I would hope you are more careful with your patients than you are with attribution quotes on this forum.

You are ascribing to me opinions I have not stated I hold. To my knowledge peacegirl is not in an institution, and I know she is not a captive here at . She has adult children, one of whom is a doctor, and grandchildren she sees. It is not my responsibility to police her discussions on the Internet for her. She is here and I will discuss with her.
I have said that I can see why some people would think she is mentally ill, but I have not, to my recollection, stated I think she is.
|
Also you know very well that if you did state she was mentally ill she would not respond to your posts as she has. Her manipulation of the situation is pretty clear.

A word of advice, Proof read your posts once in awhile, Haste makes waste. And double check the quote tags, Peacegirl had a problem with that also?

I would have apologized for the error had you not put in the unnecessary jibe in your second sentence.
I'll fix it so that I don't ever inaccurately attribute a quote to you again, easy. You go on ignore.

It appears you are, but it also appears as if you are not following what has been said and what is going on. She is already pretty much ignoring me. I am probably the most ignored of anyone here. In that regard I would be the least enabling. Those posting as if she were saying something cogent worthy of being discussed are doing the enabling. And that is not me.

And that is just like something Peacegirl would do. But it won't fix the problem if others quote me, so I guess you'll just have to leave. Bye Bye.
Interesting, when others start calling you on your errors you get hostile, just like Peacegirl.

Telling someone they are insane and they need to get help is not an insult if they are insane.
Are you offering an opinion of peacegirl's sanity based on your experience with her on the internet? And if you were I'm not sure I would care. You behave very strangely for who you say you are.

But there is no way for you to know if it is 'real ignore' or just Peacegirls 'pretend ignore'. You may be engaging her more than you think. And if what people are saying about her is true, and what her posts seem to indicate, she would be unable to not look at your posts. They are just another bit of negative attention. And now it seems that TLS is seeking the same kind of attention.

I know that she does not put anyone on ignore just like she doesn't stop posting. She tries to manipulate people here as if we were 8 year olds. But I don't think she is thriving on the kind of attention she gets from me. She wants an opponent, not someone that wants her to get mental help.
As for TLS, I don't know what is going on. It is odd.

It's always possible, but I've tried to avoid attempt to reason or argue with peacegirl simply because it feels too much like debating with my delusional Grandmother.
Well, I try to avoid it... sometimes what she writes is almost too stunning to ignore. I have to admit the latest attempt to explain efferent vision was surprisingly inventive, even if it's still gobbledygook.
I'm not going to criticize anyone else for interacting with her, because frankly, I have an unhealthy fascination with crap, and this thread is like heroin.

Yes, I understand. I'm not sure that so much conservatism is warranted in peacegirl's case. We have a little more than just her online persona to go by, too. The book, especially the introduction and the parts that she's admitted to writing, also fit into the same patterns of thought. Apparently, she's spent some amount of money to get it vanity published, which is a bit more commitment than I've seen from your average online crank.

On the other hand there are entire "peer review" paper mills online that charge a swingeing fee to get awful junk science published and peer-reviewed by other junk-scientists who want their half-arsed semi-theory to get some semblance of authority.
As we speak, there are THOUSANDS of revolutionary discoveries being ignored by a mainstream that will, one day, worship them as geniuses. We will just have to hope there will be enough room for all the statues.
