Re: What's up with you?
My husband was up projectile vomiting much of the night, and I feel mean for hoping that I poisoned him with the leftover soup that he ate but I didn't (though I did have to clean it all up, he hadn't digested a bite apparently), rather than it being viral. I don't want to puke.
Yes it is TMI. Deal with it.

Re: What's up with you?
after 3 days of not even seeing the end of my driveway (we have an uber-huge rural mailbox so i can get away without checking) i had to head into the "city" across the bay to get various chows and feeds at the ag center....
since i was already in town, i made the decision to visit the campus of the tech school where i took the LMT course work...
BECAUSE......
one of the staff members with whom i had developed an acquaintance had recently become aware that her child is FtM (and because "all transmen know each other" adrien had informed me)... when she saw me walk through the door, the look on her face said everything... i reached across the counter, shook her hand and said in me best sco'ish brouge "congratUlations, it's a boy"
she laughed.... we got about 3 sentences into conversation and she started to cry... (which meant i started to cry)... all in all it was an incredible experience to be able to offer my dubious insights and sincere support to her as she begins this incredible journey ... she asked for my ph # and said emphatically she IS going to call...

A bunch of my relatives got some kind of 24-hour bug over Christmas--it was bad enough that one of my nephews went to the ER because he was puking so hard he ruptured some capillaries (or something) and was throwing up blood, and one of my nieces fell asleep with her head in the toilet. I got sick but it was just a cold and/or mild flu--no puking thank the gods.

Re: What's up with you?
Every have a deep-seated feeling something is going to go wrong that you can't shake. You tell yourself over and over that it's never going to happen and you're worrying needlessly but it won't go away.
And then it happens.
So, yeah, that was my last 24 hours. All day yesterday I couldn't shake the feeling that I'd get to the surgery center and they would tell me it was cancelled. So my mom drives me there at 6:00am in heavy snow and, sure enough, they did. They were dicks about it, too, like they had been about everything else. They told me they couldn't tell me why it was cancelled because they deleted all my records as soon as it was. My doctor was even in the building and they wouldn't let me talk to him.
Eventually, hours later after my doctor's office opened I got an answer from him. Yesterday the anesthesiologist decided they had to do it at the full hospital instead of the surgery center because I said I had asthma on my health history. This would be the health history the surgery center kept claiming I hadn't given them, so at least I was vindicated on that point.
The surgery center people should have either called me or told the doctor's staff that they needed to but they did neither. He's already written an angry letter to them, and since he's on the board of the hospital they are part of, they might actually get their shit together and be less assholish to patients. At least I know they didn't cancel it just out of spite, which I suspected and I won't have to deal with them again now that it's been moved.
I'm still waiting for the call to find a date to reschedule it. And my sister is not demanding the return of the treats she bought me, but I'm not allowed to eat the chocolate until the actual operation.

You should charge them for cancelling with less than 24 hours notice.

Giving platelets again on Saturday. Even though the last experience was suck-a-licious and I swore I wouldn't do it again.
But I am helpless to resist when they mention the leukemia patients. Oh Red Cross, you certainly have my number!
(Sure wish I had a :shakeRedCross: smiley.)

Re: What's up with you?
Just got the silent treatment from a coworker for a good half hour because when he said conservative Christians way of life was under attack I corrected them and said that was only their perception. Then I doubled down and said I have no sympathy for the people on top whining that they aren't as far on top as they used to be. I am highly amused that it shut him up.

Re: What's up with you?
 Borings Ahead!
So on our last camping trip it was freezing and each member of the family that is not me burned a hole in my tent! I waited until winter to start scouting a new one, because of price, found one I liked at a great price (like 100 off actual retail, I have a Coleman outlet here so checked.), got the gift cards to cover it for Christmas, then failed to actually make the purchase for whatever stupid reasons I don't really know today. So last night, Hubby mentioned camping in April and I was all "I should get that tent"....and guess what? Yep, the price had gone up like 40%.
So I did a lot of Amazonning, and found a super weird listing. The one listing had two different tents, but set as merely different "sizes" of the same tent...which is not at all the case. The larger size is listed as having all the features I want, tho the smaller size does not have the main one (hinged door). It is at the price I wanted. But, it's way cheaper than the listing for that same tent as a separate individual item (rather than a size of the other tent).
I went ahead and ordered it, and did a screen capture in case that listing is all manner of fucked up. So yay me.

Yes, exactly Adam. Two separate incidences, two similar but different burning implements (1 propane lantern, 1 propane space heater), two different holes.

It's been about 10 years since I've been to Shreveport. That's where we used to do our serious grocery shopping, as the Natchitoches stores frequently did not have good choices.
I don't know if I can recommend any particular thing of use about the town.
No, wait... The Sci-port is a science museum (but mostly kid oriented), and Barksdale AFB has a museum... Both only open during the day.

I have driven through Shreveport a few times and I never had time to stop but I was always like OMG CASINOS and I would wish I could stop. So now I have concrete plans to stay overnight there on my roadtrip in May. I hope you have fun and you'll have to tell me what is good.
Seriously, though, isn't it like a 5 or 6 hour drive? You've changed, man.
