Me too. I've had some sort of evil demon respiratory virus thing going on since Jan 14 or 15. I missed 3 days of work, went back because I thought I was getting better. Only the fever and chills has dissipated. I had a coughing fit to bad yesterday morning during my 3 block journey to where my truck was parked, that I considered for a few minutes driving to the hospital instead of home. I finally was able to clear most of the bloody phlegm, drove to the 24 hour pharmacy instead, buying some generic old formula Nyquil. I downed a double-dose of it the parking lot, drove home and crashed for 8-1/2 hours. I'm better now, but still congested.

Me three. Went home sick on Thursday, Friday was my day off. I felt better enough on Saturday to do a short bike ride, then spent a couple hours doing battle with the mess in the garage. (It looks a hell of a lot better now, but it's still not the way I want it.) That night the phlegmy coughs started, and there has been no improvement since then that I can tell. No more fever, so I came to work, but I'm sure the people around my office are not terribly thrilled that I'm here, and I'm not going to explain to everybody over and over that I'm prolly sorta kinda past the contagious phase.

inland wave went to the doctor today about her phlegmy cough and sinus drainage. He said it was the flu turned into bronchitis. We both had flu shots in October or November, so mark us down as being in the ineffective category.

still kicking....I do hate the drug grogginess though. my wife is coming around, still up down lots, but she is being given leave passes from the psych hospital so the kids are finally getting to see their mom.
I just said fuck it and am taking a leave from work, no worries about job loss they're begging me to comeback. if the school busses don't run, well, the kids can walk 5 miles up hill both ways in the snow in their bare feet for all I care...... it worked for their grandparents.
Heading out to a conference in Chicago this weekend. I have managed to get almost all of my meals paid for by various vendors. One problem, without realizing it on Sunday I booked a breakfast, a brunch, and a lunch in succession. I don't actually have any meetings that interfere so I really could just eat all the damn day, but I'm not sure it's a good idea.

I declare myself over it. I still have a little bit of sinus drainage, but not much. Last night, I slept the night through without taking any decongestants. And, I feel p. good.

So you remember my shoes that Lady Shea was always mean to me about? The black clogs? Of course you remember!
Anyways, they started really falling apart from wear a while back. I'd put them away, vowing not to wear them anymore, and then I'd always get them back out and be like, "Oh, I can just wear them around the HOUSE as long as I don't go out in public," and stuff like that. I wanted to buy a new pair, but they discontinued them a while back and I could never find a straggler pair in my size.
UNTIL LIKE LAST WEEK I FOUND SOME ON EBAY SO HEY EVERYBODY I HAVE THOSE SHOES AGAIN THEY CAME TODAY AND I AM WEARING THEM RIGHT NOW.
So I was searching for my user name and references to clogs or shoes or something to try to find some post about them to link, but I couldn't. What I DID find was that I disproportionately mention footwear in those Scheißegedichts I write for But. It's been a little while since I've written any poems on here, isn't it?

Not nearly long enough.

There is a small hairline crack in the stem, so they'll hold together sort of, for a minute, but I emergency-need new glasses now AND I AM NOT READY. I AM NOT READY TO PICK OUT NEW GLASSES. I was going to try to do an experiment of "not getting hipster glasses this time," so I didn't get the kind I always get, and I put two pairs of not the kind I always get in my cart, and then I thought to myself, "Hey, wait a minute."
So I did an image search on Buckminster Fuller and the first two discrete pairs of glasses he's wearing in the results are nearly identical to the ones I picked.
At least that gives me a better idea of what they'll look like on me than the pictures of the models on the site. (For some reason, they don't have an option where you see what they look like on a potato.)
Oh yeah, I get my glasses from Zenni. I already ordered the Buckminster Fuller pairs.
Hipster glasses are a major component of my hipster curse, where hipsters copy offa me so I end up looking like I'M the one copying THEM. And yes, I know that makes me some kind of double hipster because I was doing a bunch of hipster stuff before it was cool. But I have been wearing that kind of glasses for pretty much all my adult life, since they used to sell them as the default cheap frames for old men, and approved for the military.
So I've been trying to wean myself off the iconic hipster glasses frames, but I'm apparently unable to venture far enough outside of my comfort zone as to not get old man glasses at all.
And yes, I'm pretty sure they're shipped from China, but it's OK because I did that on purpose this time!
I knew I was fighting something for like a while, but it wasn't enough to put me down...until today. I was cooking and kept having dizzy spells and feeling icky. Went to doc in box.
Ear infection like I am a little kid!
